Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

Sagacious

Dont need to worry much.

Just go to the dealer and tell him i want to raise a issue for gear vibrations.
If they dont listdn you can raise an issue on tml toll free no.

Gear box will be replaced.

For harman issue get the firmware updated to dec 2014.
You should be fine.

Happy Zesting. :)

Hi,

Just now i talked with TaTa Motors person about updating firmware, he told it is not for all vehicles, only for few no of , which are having some hang issue in Harmon system. Harman released software update. so now they are applying effected zests.

Also he confirmed that tyre pressure should be 34psi and a sticker will be pasted when vehicle comes for service.

Ravi Nalla
Thanks for the news.

Will TML upgrade Harman software in next servicing ? can you please share the official communication link ?

Hello Wincy,

on another site, someone complained that, Since Zest has running Petrol pipes open in belly of car without any cover, you can not think of park the car outside, as due to new smell of car, rodents (rats) will eat the petrol pipes.

this happened to buyer who wrote the review.

have you faced something like that?

hello All,

On one of website, real owner complained about one important fact about Zest is that, Petrol pipes are running open without any cover in the belly of Car.

So if you happen to park your Car outside your house on road, then rodents (rats) will cut the pipes as new car smell will attract them.

Has any one faced this issue?

I can vouch for the KHT motors service center. They are very careful to listen to the concerns raised and address them well.

When I bought my Nano, I got slightly better offer from Prerana compared to KHT, so, had opted for them.

@Sunnyrd,

I just bought a Zest Diesel XT and have two issues.

1 Vibration in 3rd gear
2 Navigation panel lights up and displays but on connecting phone I get a message on the screen "maximum user limit reached"

Would highly appreciate guidance with how to get the first issue fixed since you seem to have faced the same.

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

Has any one faced, mud entering into engine compartment with 2015 made tata zest.

i actually looked at the finishing and surrounding area near front wheels, in Zest its look like they hanged the rubber mat which are not connected to front body or chassis and each other properly.

However in other cars i checked, like Dzire and Xcent they have used proper plastic cladding well connected to front body of the car.

Also, whoever got the mud entering issue resolved, can give an idea what they did? is it temporary?

In new production, this issue should not occur at all, if tata knows about issue...
please reply.

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

I have got new Zest XMS in end Nov 14. My feedback

1) Good music system
2) Very good ground clearance
3) Excellent seats
4) Ride and handling average- straight handling is good
5) No noise even at higher speeds
6) Good leg space
Issues
Power low in highway -need to shift to sport to overtake
Lighting is focused very low in low beam
Dicky cladding missing - cost control
Fuel lid is very flimsy. - cost control
Break makes noise when at lowspeed - was temporarily fixed by concorde but sound back
Gearbox is bit notchy
GPS missing even in top end.

Suggestion
Diesel has less issues especially power and gearbox issue are not there,
Indeed VFM car but Quality and TASS could have been better .
Provide tinted front windshield like amaze to block hot sun .

Re: Tata Zest XM (Revotron) Ownership Review

is there any improvement in car performance after ECU upgrade in zest ?
I have been told by servicing center that upgrade is available for my zest.
funny part is , they are telling me that ECU upgrade might take whole day :)
where is the offcial communication from TML about ECU upgrade in zest ?

second concern is that - servcing center is telling me that mud-in-engine bracket has not been made available by TML. I have registered a complaint about the same.
anybody got it installed in Pune so far ?

ECU upgrade is to correct the stalling problem. There is some improvement in pickup after ECU upgrade . I already had upgrade twice. and no fix for the mud issue .

Hi all I have booked zest xm grey. But was little worried about turbo lag which many sites are posting. Is there any turbo lag.How isa its pick up.I have driven swift ealier. So is it have same pick up.Also -pls update on mileage

Dear Zest owners,
I have completed 1200 kms in my Zest XMS RT in a month and there are few updates to share with you all,

1) The car is very smooth to drive. Every time I lock, I look back to my car. Its a beauty. I even like smell of the car. I refilled it twice. Both the times, I filled upto auto lock. First time, I got 12.86 kmpl and next time it was 11.86 kmpl. The consumption of AC was minimum (5% can be assumed) for both times due to the winter season. I drove using Eco and City modes equally (50% use of both the modes).
Please suggest whether the mileage I am getting is fine or is it less than expectation?

2) I found two problems in my car. Both of them are quite famous now in internet. The first one is a) Mud in the engine bay and the second one is b) Engine stall during cold start. My car got switched off twice in the middle of the road. However, I am happy to announce that both the problems are now resolved by Tata Motors.

I have complained about both the issues to the regional office of Tata Motors and today morning I got a call from them. I was asked to take my car to any nearby authorized service center of Tata Motors so that they can fix the problems. For the first problem, they used brackets to cover the void spaces which was responsible for the problem. The second issue was solve by updating the ECU software. The total process took 30 minutes only. I drove nearly 10 kms after the update. The problem did not came back again. Moreover, the car is much easier to drive now, even in the Eco mode.

I would like to mention here that during the entire process, the people from Tata Motors were highly cooperative and their services are highly satisfactory.

I am looking for a cheerful ownership experience of my Zest for a long time.
what is your avg now

Hi any owner having gear vibration issue in zest petrol
My Zest's (QJD XT) 3rd gear vibrates. It also makes some sound like kkrrrrrrr.[confused]
If I hold the gear firmly with my hand the sound goes away. All the other gears are fine.
I am planning to bring up this issue to my dealer soon.
