Re: Brand New Sedan Class Hatchback (Vista QJD VX) Reached Home

We(myself & my Friend) went to MRF showroom to clear the Puncture.. MRF guys cleared the puncture but they took 1:30 hr. & charged Rs.140 for Puncture & Rs.30 for Nitrogen refill.
Did you ask them to fill Nitrogen or was he insisting on it?

Thanks Visran,

1st service - 1000-1500 kms
2nd service - 5000-5500 kms
3rd service - 10000 kms.

after that, they are recommending to do the service for every 10000kms.

Vista heading towards 2nd service. But, at the 3rd service only they will change the Oil and all.

I think Vista has synthetic oil. Thats why change interval is 10k hours. Correct me if I am wrong. Manza has synthetic oil.

If Manza using synthetic oil for its QJD engine then Vista also should use the same. but, not confirmed.

Vista owners let me know whether you guys are using Synthetic oil for your Vista?

I have read a lot about lubrication during college days and later too. Let's see how much I can recall.
A lube oil should be able to make a thin film between the running parts in contact. In case of ideal lubrication, the parts are always covered by a layer of oil, and they are actually not in contact.
In case there is any air or water ingress, the oil should be able to withstand there content to some extent and maintain its properties. Synthetic oils are better.
Lube oil should control corrosion.
Lube oil should show resistance to oxidation. Synthetic oils are far superior than mineral oils in this aspect. Thats why we can use synthetic oils for longer time.
Another property is detergent property. This property lets oil remove dirt from the surface of metals. Here too synthetic oils are better.
I have written in more or less layman's terms, as I too have forgotten most of it. You can always get lots of information on net. Though its very clear, synthetic oils are better.

Guys,

Today Vista going to Chidambaram via Tiruvannamalai-Cuddalore with my Dad & will return by tonight itself. Total Km would be around 500Km.

I asked my dad to check its comfort & mileage on those State Highways.

And one more thing,

After a long research I named to my Vista. Its nothing but "Whitey".

at Third Service, the tata service guys gave me estimates based on usage of Synthetic oil and when i paid the final bill it was regular oil. In fact the oil was changed in front of me and they added normal oil. The synthetic oil is only used for 90hp engines (Quadrajet).

you may choose to check the owners manual, the specifications for oil to be used are mentioned for all engines in TATA cars.

Re: Brand New Sedan Class Hatchback (Vista QJD VX) Reached Home

Hoping that an existing owner can help me out with this.

I just had a test drive of the Vista VX a few days ago and was quite pleased with the car overall.
One thing that really is bothering me though is the seek buttons on the steering mounted controls. When seek is pressed it goes to the next frequency. For example from 94.3 it goes to 94.4
This is pretty stupid considering it should ideally jump to the next saved radio station.

Can any of the current owners please confirm if this is how it is or is there a way you can set it to cycle between pre set stations.

Thanks Buddy. I'll Check with Owners manual.

After reading the Pros of Synthetic oil I planned to use synthetic oil for my Vista.

It will cause any problem if we use Synthetic oil for 75bhp?
