Hi Appu, is the color of your car a metallic one? if yes then Teflon coating is worth.

Metallic. I've no idea about that one. As my car mostly stands on direct sunlight and rainfall. I thought teflon may protect the color upto some extent. So applied teflon coating to her.


BTW, here is the details. I done the Teflon coating for Rs.1600.
time taken to apply Teflon coating was 4 hrs.

After the teflon coating I feel the silky feel while touching Whitey.

Hello guys,

Here is the small update.

Today I've Installed "Infinity PRIMUS PR9603is" speakers on the rear.
It produces excellent BASS.

I'm really impressed with its performence.

Will update the Pics and details on coming Monday.

Here is the details about my Infinity speakers.

Last Saturday(3/11/12) I asked my dad about the speakers to Install. He agreed to install the speakers. So, I called to to Mahaveer decors at Vellore & confirmed my arrival. I reached the shop around 4:30pm, the shop owner showed JBL, Pioneer, Hertz & Infinity speakers to me. I finally chossed JBL GTO949, GTO959 and Infinity PR9603is. then I asked the shop owner for his suggestion, he said JBL GTO959 will produce best Bass, Next to that he suggested Infinity PR9603is and then JBL GTO949 to be the last preference.

As I've a plan to Install Subwoofer later, so I've choosen Infinity PR9603is.

Total Time to Install : 45Min
Cost of speakers + rear wooden tray + Installtion charge : Rs.4,800
Warranty Period : 1 Year.

To get a full effort of Infinity speakers on the rear I asked the installation boy to disconnect OEM inbulit rear door speakers.

Here My Whitey is ready to Entertain Us




The Bass effort really Good, I'm impressed with its Performance.

BTW, My Whitey completed 9,500km. so Planned to leave for second service by coming Saturday

Did you change the Head unit of the music system along with the speakers?

Speakers looks good, did you also replace the front speakers ?

Did you get the MDF plank installed or did it come with the car ?

Appu, this is my first reply on this thread. You have maintained your car very well. I read all your posts in this thread and I can imagine the enthu with which you have written here.

I've not changed the OEM inbulit headunit, the stock Headunit is good enought to produce very good quality of sound.

Speakers looks good, did you also replace the front speakers ?

No buddy, I not replaced front speakers. I still have the stock OEM Front Door speakers & dashboard tweeters.

Did you get the MDF plank installed or did it come with the car ?

MDF plank has been replaced. only Plastic rear tray comes with the car, we cannot able to install the speakers there, so repalced with wooden tray.

Enjoy the music. Make sure you don't keep anything on the speaker tray. These trays have a habit of bending/sagging after some time.

Soory tDcarlover, I don't know any bodywork shop at Vellore, anyhow I'll check with my dad & let you know.

I've done the Tef-coating in Annai Water service station on double-road, Satuvachari.

Yes Buddy you are right, I too have seen some cars with curved Parcel tray.

Mostly I keep weightless objects on the rear tray. even I don't allow anyone to keep water bottle also.

Thanks for your comments on Vista.

Will post the closeup by weekend,

BTW, the RMS value forced me to go for Infinity.
the shop owner said these RMS value is responsible for the Bass effort, JBL 949 RMS value is 80 , Infinity RMS value is 90 and the JBL 959 RMS value is 110.

So I've choosen Infinity.

Infinity is the own brand of JBL & even I got the warranty card from JBL only.

My Whitey crossed 9500Km in 7Months and we planned to go Sabarimala with our Whitey after Diwali, it would come around 1700Km(Up & Down). So I decided leave her for the second service on Saturday.

Please help me Guys, which oil I need to use, whether Synthetic or Mineral Oil?
Is any grade is there?
Normmaly which oil the company will use?
What are the things I need to check in 2nd service?

Check the car manual it contains all the details about the engine oil and also ensure that the wheel rotation and alignment are done,have a very happy and safe journey.

Nothing to worry buddy, go just as per the manual says. check all of them after job is finished. Nothing more to be done. I wish a happy journey and safe journey too !! Be careful on the ghats sections, if you are not experienced much

@Gurrala: before couple of years I drove my Blacky on those areas, but I don't know how those areas has been changed. you triggered me to think about that.thanks for your advice, definitely I'll be more cautious on those Ghats.(anyhow Lord Iyyapa will be there to guide me)
