Last week, I was very sure of Tigor, but since no TD vehicle is available, I went for Baleno test drive.

Baleno is a very good car and it is comparable to Tigor on dimension. It is in fact wider but is not as tall as Tigor.

Baleno wait time is too much, else i would have considered it.

If TD not available this by this weekend, i may go and check Aspire, and surely will get more confused...

Of course yes. My point is if tiago can get ARAI figures of 23.8 for petrol, why tigor couldn't? Yes weight increase should decrease FE but competition is able to extract same. Average indian buyer would have been mesmerized listening these figures
I think the Tigor's Final Ratio of the Gear box could be slightly different to that of Tiago, to give it more peppier driving feel. That could be the reason for a substantial difference in ARAI FE figures for corresponding Tiago & Tigor models.

Buddies,

I am relieved to update that finally I went ahead and booked Tigor XZO Petrol in Silver. Got VIN decoded and its freshly baked one (Feb 2017 chassis) and assembling of mid March 2017. ETA within 2 weeks as it is in transit and 1st booking of Silver one with Noida dealer. Just a comparo with the CITY. The PDI will be done by next week. The dealership and SA experience has been very humble and nice. Thanks to all my buddies here for the support and respect.

The Silver color Petrol version has different alloys than Diesel model and in the cabin the AC vents have piano Black finish instead of body color.

Wow, Reporter Saab, Congrats on your first Tata car. Hope you have millions of happy miles with the Tata badge. I am sure Tigor will not let you down. Hats off to you especially when you have your own relative running a suzuki dealership. I know it is so difficult to move from the Suzuki / hyundai or toyota badge.

Thanks buddy. The last 2 days have been truly exhausting but thankfully, I was able to convince my family to try a new and equally respected brand this time. I simply rejected CIAZ today morning stating that I already own the best-in-segment petrol engine (1.5 Ivtec) and CIAZ's engine in comparison will a compromise. As an enthusiast, it was very difficult for me to stand against my parents and my uncle. But I was sure in my mind that anything Maruti this time will not have my similar emotions for it as my Esteem had. In my life, (gods grace) Esteem would be the 1st and last Maruti owned by me. Now that the car is booked, next is to plan out the PDI and finances.

Congrats Akash. Your owning Tigor says how good the car is [:)]. Indeed the best ownership review is about to come.
Silver looks best on Tigor honestly. Your City also looks cool. Hope someone doesn't get confused that its not your Tigor in the pic [;)]

Thanks buddy. My dad told me while returning today that I am like the only "sample" who took a decision like this and opted a Tigor over CIAZ. To which I replied, I have no problems in becoming a example for a good reason. And personally too, I feel a credible product should always be given its due. Issues are there in every car and brand but one needs to have a practical and unbiased outlook.

I will make sure of it. I plan to put my heart out in that. Every incident that occurred in past 2 days will be mentioned in that.[:)]

Just wanted to have a fair idea of how my parking will look like. Silver indeed is elegant and I opted for it simply because my Esteem was Silver too. And don't be confused, the Tigor in pic is the diesel one. See the Alloy design.

Congrats and glad to know you chose Tigor! Please let us know the OTR quoted by the dealership. I came to know from a friend here that it is 7.4L OTR in Tamil Nadu (Ex showroom was 6.38L vs 6.19L in Delhi).

Thanks, in Noida, OTR quoted was 7.13 L (With AMC) but as I am not taking AMC so it comes around 7.05 L. Rest of the details will be updated on car's arrival buddy.
