Sorry, not Invoice. He has given me the estimate as per present price and against that I paid Rs.5000 as booking amount. Also I have got a quotation from them enable for me to obtain loan from the Bank and the quotation also shows today's price. The delivery time is minimum 12 days from today as the car has to come from Gujarat or Pune factory because they don't have the color in stock.

What I am trying to say is that even if we book today the old rate will apply and no need to pay full money by today as your dealer demands.!

They haven't shared me any VIN as of now. As a norm by these dealers, they will say only after full payment, they can share you the VIN.

Then the dealer is good I must say as others will say that price on day of invoice would prevail.

Dealer may or may not offer you July prices as I said earlier.
Dont pay a single penny until you do the PDI. See my thread on Tigor. Dealer was reluctant for allowing PDI citing yard is very far. I escalated to higher up, and next day I drove to the yard myself along with a chap from dealer did PDI and then asked Bank to release amount for Invoice.

No, nothing in writing as such. He promised to provide me VIN number prior making next payment. In case he ask new rate then I will not accept the car, even if I lose the booking amount Rs.5000.

The SA himself called me this morning and told me about the price increase and requested me to book the car today itself to avoid paying high price later

I booked the car today evening as per his advise and later on if he/they ask me for increased price then I am not there to accept..

When will the loan EMI cycle starts. Mine got approved on July 31st. Delivery Order given to the dealer. Fund not transferred. Maybe a foolish question but still .

Personal advice, if you have paid the advance, just sit pretty till you are provided the VIN number, this is when your vehicle is in the container and on it's way, the dealer will try his level best to get your money before delivery.

Once he gives you the VIN, he will ask you to lock the vehicle (it's an internal matter) after which even if price increase's you are locked in with your original quoted price.

All this, situation if you have decent understanding with your dealer. If you are harassed by your SA, escalate by email to his higher management, and copy to customercare@tatamotors.com, they are hype active, and once they reply, they will provide name and number of Tata Motors regional contact.

Sorry about the twins mixup.

If the car is in transit, then they have the VIN number, try and talk to the higher management, not as a complaint, as car buying is a happy state of mind for you and family.

The best person to talk to now is the CRM they normally sit in the workshop/service area, some are helpful.

Regarding the price increase, it will be marginal for a hatchback not more than 2-3k, so take it easy. But do get the GM, CRM in the loop.

No, according to information, the price increase will be minimum 2% of the base price and not just marginal increases of Rs. 2-3K. I will check and report bit later if prices are increased as of yesterday night and what are the actual percentage of increase etc.

I tweeted to TML asking clarification on price hike. I was not able to pick their calls. Asked them to call again. I will raise the issue of VIN not being shared with me. Dealer called today morning and said VIN can be shared only after billing/ full payment.

I just discussed with my dealer who confirm prices not increased as yet. As per the information he got that the prices will be increased effective from 5th August.

(I feel they may not increase the price now, or at least till Onam festival sales are over)

I will repeat that dealer is taking you for a ride. VIN can be shared once car is in transit. Nanofreak got his Nexon VIN already, which I decoded (see VIN decoder thread).
Threaten him to cancel the booking and he would fall in line.

If I'm not wrong, following should be the order of events. Please correct if my understanding is wrong.
- Car is in transit. Hence dealer should share me the VIN.
- Once the car reaches the yard, they should inform me ASAP.
- PDI from customer end.
- If everything fine, remaining down payment + loan amount will be credited to dealer's account.
- Billing the car against my name and TP activities. (Maybe August prices will come into effect by that time.)

Unfortunately, I missed call from TML Customer Care against my tweet and they haven't called me back in the alternate number I shared. Also note that my brother booked a Tigor XZA with the same dealer. We both need our VIN to be rest assured. Else they will keep on changing promises / give the car to someone ready for full payment.
