The sequence of events which you mentioned is absolutely correct and I follow same for all our new cars bought till date.
Both You and brother create pressure over dealer to share VIN as soon as it in transit or it reaches the yard. Dont pay a single rupee until you see the car in own eyes. Dealer may be reluctant but you stick to your ground.
BTW - Is your brother a TAIger as well ? Its raining Tigors at the moment.

Unfortunately, I missed call from TML Customer Care against my tweet and they haven't called me back in the alternate number I shared. Also note that my brother booked a Tigor XZA with the same dealer. We both need our VIN to be rest assured. Else they will keep on changing promises / give the car to someone ready for full payment.
Firstly, each customer has the right to check the product he/she is buying. Dealer can't stop you from checking the product in prior if you have already paid booking amount etc. My uncle's MS dealership once messed with me on this when I booked an Ertiga few years back but I stood my point and went to check the car allotted and rejected it then and there as it was banged by another car parked behind. Dealer/SA will always trick you for not giving the VIN on some odd reason but you as customer have full right to know it. You are the one because of whom the dealer is getting the business worth lacs. So, as a practice of transparency they should fulfill your request. If they don't cancel both bookings and get the refund. Mark a letter to the GM/MD of the dealership stating the issues. When I bought the Tigor last year, I was upfront given the VIN by the dealer much before the actual delivery of car.

If I'm not wrong, following should be the order of events. Please correct if my understanding is wrong.
- Car is in transit. Hence dealer should share me the VIN.
- Once the car reaches the yard, they should inform me ASAP.
- PDI from customer end.
- If everything fine, remaining down payment + loan amount will be credited to dealer's account.
- Billing the car against my name and TP activities. (Maybe August prices will come into effect by that time.)

I believe, in Kochi there 2 or 3 Tata Dealers (Concorde, RF motors..) so tell your dealer, in case they are not willing to provide VIN, then you both are going to cancel the booking & go to another dealer. (for me, only one dealer here however they have promised me VIN details the moment they receive the car details from the factory. I have made it clear that I will not make any payment unless I get the VIN. We are not at the mercy of these dealers or even the brand. We have a choice to select as per our liking in today's market)

Meanwhile contacted someone from TML South Zone. He is saying dealer level PDI is utmost important for them and only those vehicles passing that will be presented to customers. Hence dealer cannot share the VIN for those cars in transit. I'm going to wait till car reaches the yard. Where exactly we can see the VIN at first glance ?

Update from my end. Dealer shared the VIN expecting me to release the bank loan. Fortunately my bank executive understood my concern and intentionally delayed the same. Result is, I got my VIN without paying the amount.[;)]

Friends,

I am having strange problem with my Tigor's music system. After 6.00 PM Bluetooth music streaming is not working, its cracks and breaks continuously. I have tried three different phones Moto G5s Plus, Redmi Note 4 and Oneplus 6 and all are having same problem. What is surprising thing , its works fine in day time but start having problem only after 6.00pm.

Already told the issue in first service, they updated the software also but still continues to behave same. Any suggestion to fix this, check the video.

It seems to be very strange . Did you try after 6 pm to run the stereo with lights on or off ?

No sir. Car still not reached. Dealer informed that maximum by Friday it will reach (today is all India strike). Hence fund not disbursed yet. I'm not thinking much about the July prices now. SA told all offers are in place. Fingers crossed.[sleep]

Yes. Free insurance and a Zero Dep add on from the dealer end.
Vehicle is July manufactured, supposed to be taken delivery by August 17( Chingam 1) but got delayed by almost 3 weeks due to the flood. Vehicle had already arrived at dealer stockyard on August 13. They were kind enough to keep the vehicle from water and other issues for that time period.
