Thanks to Singh890.

Not to go unnoticed.

Looks like the new vehicle comes with JK tyres but given a choice which one to pick between Bridgestone and JK.

is it reasonable to ask for swap of tyres?
Here is the latest VIN I am given with, Dear sir, the Vin no : D6G10578

Previously it is E and now G - which is 7th month.

M & M agreed to get me a vehicle from July lot. [:)] I am yet to get VIN. There is No wait, BTW.

Thanks to Raja, Superbad for backing my concerns.
Hope you don't say now that you need a end of July made car and not the one made in first week of July [;)] just joking .

I actually support your tenacity and curiousness applied for getting the best bang of your buck . Glad that you are happy which makes us more then happy . Waiting for the ownership report .
About the tyres well you can't swap them for free , if they are using a particular brand of tyres for that lot of production you can't do anything about it other then changing them yourself .
Incase the dealer is ready to do that for free great .

Bridgestones are better than JK tyres.

Most probably, the dealer wont swap tyres for you.

I will settle down with JK tyres then. [:)] I don't expect them to go out of way just for me but stick to the stuff that we agreed up on.

@Raja - in fact I checked for any Aug made vehicles but no luck[:D]

@Suhas

JK have two variaties. Tornado's are not good, but Vectra's are better, but any case JK will not get you that great grip on road and are bit noisy and the same time they are long lasting

Bridgestone are good for the grip and are bit softer too has less road noise compared to JKs, but worn out bit quickly.

I don't think dealer can swap the tyres, so be happy with whatever you get with their own USPs[;)]

Actually no we cant generalize, the XUV bridgestones are hard rubber infact, though they screech like crazy on fast turns. I have seen atleast 3 XUVs doing over 75K on stock bridgestone (one among it was at 95k and still running). So it depends on various factors.

Suhas -> Btw congrats and look forward to see an ownership review soon.

I cant be sure but i heard jk come around 9k and bridgestone some 12k or so.
Longevity wise bridgestone is surely better.

But that apart I havent personally experienced JK grip in different conditions, so dont want to base it on internet chatter - honestly i dont expect it to be hugely different than bridgestone in both noise and grip.

If you have a choice push for bridgestone just to be on the safer side.
Whatever you get do remember to always take care of alignment and balancing in your upkeep of the vehicle to get the maximum out of it.

Superbad,

I did not get you, I assume the rectifications described in this article are the steps that M & M has already taken and all the new vehicles after April 2013 are inclusive of these changes. Though it was not explicitly stated anywhere. The vehicle they allocated me comes with reduced GC, BTW.

Is that not what you think? I will check with M & M any way.

Superbad, I went through this article this morning when you shared on the other thread but immediately I felt it is M & M official note to the public about the changes they have been doing in past a few months. These are exactly the rectifications the vehicle already went through when I checked with all the dealers during my TDs. Except build quality I learnt new from the,

What truly impressed us is the improvement in perceived build quality. The latest Mahindra XUV500 feels tauter and much better screwed together. M&M has worked hard on eliminating squeaks and rattles by carefully matching different materials and panels on the dashboard and interior trim. But what has really improved the torsional stiffness of the Mahindra XUV500 is closer spot welds in the body-on-white. Though this has increased cost and a bit of weight, it has resulted in a far stiffer body structure, which is essential in our rough road conditions.

so selecting a newer vehicle was a good decision overall. [:D]
