Who said it turned turtle? Its just that Dynamics and handling of XUV is not as good and stable as the Storme...especially on the highways. It bounces quite a bit more than the safari on bad roads.
I think you are confusing between ride quality and handling . In ride quality the storme is just ahead .

In handling if you compare the storme with any BOL SUV it is the best option below 20 lakhs . It's even better then fortuner in ride quality and handling too .

But logically xuv will corner better then the storme in high speeds . Iam saying logically because I have never done cornering on xuv in high speeds , but still having a stiffer suspension setup it will for sure corner better then storme .

Both SUVs are stable on highways . It's the corners were xuv will have advantage and storme for its ride quality will have advantage on bad roads .

DJ bro, the XUV is more rigid than the Storme. This is an inherent characteristic of the monocoque construction vs the body on ladder construction.__________________

Naah. Im not talking about strength here. It bounces and pitches on even small undulations!
Why don't you try the cars for yourself? Driving back to back? Ok the Storme also bounces, but not as unbalancedly in an unsettled manner like the XUV.
XUV may corner well because of it's lower stance and lower centre of gravity, but on expressway cruising, the Storme is better.

I mentioned this from the beginning on this thread, but unfortunately people kept on speaking about the facts and technology all the time then the real time experience[cry]

What exactly does “handling” mean?

Handling means how your car responds when it turns. A car with better handling can go around corners at higher speeds and is less likely to lose control in a sudden panic swerve.

Storme [4x2] being a LOF + RWD weights 2000kg where as XUV only 1785 kg thanks to the monocoque + FWD set up. The heavier the vehicle, the stronger the inertia and the more the vehicle will resist turning.

Also better handling requires the suspension stiffer, which could result in a harder ride. XUV being a lighter cross-over SUV with a car-like Monocoque construction + a slightly stiffer suspension is bound to have a relatively harder ride for better handling.

Safari with its softer suspension is expected to ride better with not so good handling character, where as XUV handles way better without compromising much on the ride comfort as well.

If you need a vehicle which excels in both handling and ride departments, look elsewhere.

What makes you think we are talking in air here ?

Dj bro I have driven both the SUVs back to back exactly on the same bad and good roads .

The xuv does suffer in bad roads even if there are small undulations I agree with you , and storme rides the same roads with ease .

On highways straight line stability both are equally good .

I have not done cornering high speed on a xuv. But having stiffer suspensions it will corner better then storme for sure .

Express crusing storme is better in what sense ??? Can you explain pls ?

Gone are those days in engineering heavier the vehicle hard to stop/turn those were a say years ago, Bharat benz and AMW trucks can put some cars to shame when it comes to stopping/maneuvering ability, its the driver's skill which is more needed to stop/turn a heavy vehicle, unfortunately there are less good drivers when it comes to driving those and when it falls in wrong hands who would love to drive a SUV like a sports sedan the results would be dangerous not only to him but others on the road, Just for your information once on my drive from Chennai to Bangalore, i encountered a half minded person who was racing or chasing a Beamer 3 Series with his scorpio with more than 150Kmh [frustration], for the matter of fact all the SUV never wanna be a speed guns but a majestic cruiser, which gets its way forward and not chasing others for a way ahead, sorry for being :offtopic:

Yes, safari does have a considerable soft suspension which offers us amazing comfort, but handling needs to be acquired with some minor well known tweaking which is not offered at the company level

My BIL safari had done such a minor tweak which makes it a good handler, with up sized tyres of 245/70/16 Yokohama Geolandar and moderate air pressure, it does descent 3 digit speeds not exceeding 110 to 120 Kmh with very good handling experience though me not being a regular user of that vehicle, anything more than that is not the purpose for which it was designed for

There is difference between rigid and strong.Look it up please

The word Rigid is used to describe the stiffness of the chassis not the strength.

Guys something just off context, Can we consider Force One SUV as a competitor for comparisons. I heard that it has a superb engine under the hood and excellent at riding and handling. Excuse if this is an off topic here.

Please dont laugh about something you are unsure of.

A monocoque construction is inherently much stiffer than a LOF chassis. Vehicles like Safari, Fortuner, Xylo, Scorpio, etc. with LOF chassis will (in most cases) roll more than vehicle with mono construction. So it is not true that LOF vehicle is more stable than mono ones.

If you are talking about ruggedness, it is an old belief that LOF chassis is more apt for abuse, but many high end SUVs with mono construction are proving this so-called fact wrong.

Surprisingly, whenever I have driven my XUV on rough roads, it has never been unsettled. Yes, it does crash into potholes but never bounces around. Also, I can confidently take it into corners at higher speeds as the roll is minimal and the car stays in the lane.

Damn, I must be having super powers...

+10
That is what I do in my Scorpio too, which runs on Yokos at moderate air pressures always, though it affects the FE adversely a bit and the longevity of the tyres as well . But I do it for the enhanced ride quality.

Who said that weight is an influential factor in ride and handling. What ever the weight of the vehicle, it wont have any impression on the ride. Ride quality depends on spring rates and damping rates.

On Handling? Well, it depends on COG. Whatever the weight, if the COG is in the right place then you'll have a perfectly balanced car. Again spring rates, damping rates and suspension geometry helps to tune the handling characteristics to the desired level.

Yes weight of the car does effect the braking, efficiency and acceleration, which can be overcome by having bigger discs and powerful torquey engines.

Ride and handling as a package is perspective thing. Its very hard to get the best of both the worlds. There has to be a compromise somewhere. Thats why there are suspension settings in sports cars these days, for owners to select a comfy setting to drive daily.

Having said that, I dont think Storme handles better than XUV. I've had a ride in XUV but not the Storme. BUT ride and high speed stability of the XUV is still not the things to rave about.

Ladder frame chasis = Improved structural strength=offroading possible=Real suv= STORME [;)]
Disadvantages of monoque structure:
1. Extremely fragile.
2. After accident the entire body needs to be changed as its part of chasis.while ladder on frame chasis design vehicles can just change the particular part and be happy.

To be very frank i never would categorise xuv in suv category as it does no have the capablity of offroading.

Maybe the saying is true for the storme " A true explorer at heart this powerful beast runs free refusing to show mercy to any terrain"

^^Stormer, In my opinion XUV is never categorized as SUV and it is a Crossover and Storme is a true SUV and not a Crossover !! So off roading capabilities of XUV are limited
