Ask this question to yourself and you will get the answer this is what I have been saying actually what different has mahindra done ? [:)] what they are doing is must if you need to survive in that segment .

One thing they have done is replaced many parts because of quality issues afaik .

What they are doing is what every one are doing in that segment and in long run if some wont do they will be washed out in that segment or from the market completely .
the interpretation is confusing.
You saying that they have done nothing great to they are at par with the industry standards for that segment means two different things.

in a performance oriented field , if one gets a remark as you have done nothing great, you are paid for it.

i dont think that gesture will be appreciated.
I have been said by my seniors many times, that what we do is nothing great we are being paid hefty for it and nor are we doing any charity work for our firm.

So which other fields are such gestures appreciated, would you please mind sharing?

If a person pays 10L for something then he should be provided service worth 10L, and that's the job of the service provider. And in this 10L provider have his own share of profits and no one here is to do charity work. It is all business, pure business that's it. May it be cars, mobiles, clothes, bikes, etc.

Now if one asks for a feedback, you would say nothing great.

But then others would want to know why it is not great and what they have missed.

Mahindra doing "NOTHING GREAT " is a response to what raj wrote in his post read his post .


Thats the second point. XUV has been defamed because of the first two batches. The batches which came after that (July-August 2012) were fairly reliable.

Of course, none other than M&M is to be blamed for that for launching a feature loaded vehicle without thorough testing. But atleast they owe it up and are ready to do whatever it takes to please the customer. They even change wear and tear items for free as a goodwill gesture. So, all this makes the customer happy.

Finally, they keep updating the vehicle and all updates are available for free to older customers. Like the new software for infotainment, tripmeter, brake pads, anti roll bar, GPS, etc.

We can keep saying on how it is the "duty" of manufacturers to do all this, but I repeat, how many of them actually do this is the question.

Now what we mean is ,

Here what mahindra is doing is nothing great they owing their faults and mistakes is nothing extraordinary feat , they have to owe it as its their duty . If they don't or any company including tata won't owe it a consumer like me will take them to consumer court is that clear ?


Now about feedback about their a.s.s will be this which I have already posted

@ Manoj - if you ask me is Mahindra doing their best to improve their a.s.s ? will say yes and a big yes . But then i see that as something which they have too and nothing out of the world .
If you ask about Tata ,well if they dont they will be washed out as simple as that for that matter any company .

Every company is trying to up their ante in service because the one which wont will be washed out as simple as that .
If Mahindra is doing it great ,there is nothing extraordinary feat here if they want to survive they have



Remember when I said storme has very good paint quality , and you were quick to reply " they have too what is so great , its something which is a must required if they want to be relevant "

Similarly if mahindra is improving their service I as a consumer say that's nice and good but that is what is required anyway by doing so they are not doing any favour or trying to achieve anything extra ordinary . And my reaction is not just limited to mahindra it is applicable to all .

Hope you understand what dharmesh and me are trying to put here .

You may say wow in a 5star hotel they gave us water in a glass made of silver .

we would say so what ? its a 5 star hotel they are charging us a premiuim they have to Pamper us or else we will go at some other hotel which will pamper us for the money paid by us .

I will appreciate and make a note in my heart if some person goes out of the way and offers me a glass of water when it was required the most , infact I will appreciate that gesture all my life as act of charity .

If mahindra or tata will polish my car for free because of some inconvenience caused by them to me I will just say thanx as a matter of courtesy I won't get tears in my eyes out of appreciation towards them . Hope its clear now .

Now there is difference between feedback as nothing great or great.

After I bought Punto, after some time there was a sound coming from front suspensions. FIAT/TASS got me entire new front axle from Italy worth some Rs. 25,000 and it was replaced under warranty. Now if you ask me, there is nothing great about this, there was some fault and they changed it. But now if FIAT calls me and offers me free GC upgrade, then I would say that's great from FIAT.

Now if you are smart enough you would analyze and understand by yourself what companies are providing.

Now this is my individual thinking and perception, You may think differently.

In today's business scenario there is no scope for the word good gesture man, it is their duty for a 16 L spent car either it is TATA or Mahindra. My dear friends don't be in clouds

so i am taking your case and inferring. and applying it to XUV.

people complained about the grinding noise, the brake pads were changed free of cost : nothing great.

then M & M upgraded the brake pads periodically with a newer set of brake pads for all the customers, whether they complain or not : so GREAT ?

Tata replaced hinges in all stormes if you complain or if you don't .
what will you say its wow or nothing great ?

Have you asked a question to yourself why is mahindra changing brake pads free of cost whether you complain or not ? Do you think mahindra is a charitable institution ?

@ Raja, brake replacement is due to anticipated fear of CPA.,while tripmeter update is a good gesture.,However the ' brake replacement ' also sounds like ' good gesture ' as mahindras have done it before someone reaches the court.

CPA is consumer protection act.

It can be deterimental to the automaker as follows ,in case of dharmesh, if he files an application in the court of cpa against fiat for delivering defective axle equipped car ,court would definitely compell fiat to relpace the axle free of cost and would then impose heavy fine and ask them to pay comensation to dharmesh for the mental and financial damage suffered due to same reason.
But if dharmesh files a case against fiat for providing a car with low gc as compared to 2112 models ,then fiat would get relief from court as dharmesh was well informed about gc specification
by fiat before the deal was done.

In case of XUV ,possibilty of getting punished is high as m&m never informed the custermer that brakrkes are going to create noise and they won't be able to proove thst noisy brakes are not
unsafe.

However, if someone complains about the 3 digit tripmeter, m&m can easily get relief from the court.as the custmer had checked the specifications before the deal.
