Appeal to IRON ROCK:

Please compare the body roll behaviour of Storme with XUV at good speeds to give us the final verdict.
I would be more than happy to do that, no need for an appeal[:D]
Infact even without driving a Storme and based on previous Tata vehicles experience i can blindly say for sure that Storme would have overall a better ride quality and comfort(first 2 rows). Matching/Bettering the XUV in body roll - if Tata has achieved this then indeed they have done a fabulous job - time will tell. I wont even compare an offroad prowess of Storme to the XUV, there are simply intended for different purpose.

Hope we get a test vehicle soon to get all our answers [:)]

the reviews are not consistent to say the least.

when others mention the presence of body roll and turbo lag , there are members quick to point out that the reviewer is bashing tata or biased against tata. [roll]

so unless there is a creditable/unbiased review, one cannot infer based on the points mentioned in a single review.
Who said there is no turbo lag or body roll?
Both are there but significantly lesser than the previous Safari. In terms of handling etc etc..let me reach my home and then I'll do one real TD of Storme and from real TD I mean one true blue TD pushing the vehicle to its limits. It's after that only I'll present my complete opinion on the Storme. Till then, I am with XUV.
And guys, if I have turned from harcore XUV basher to XUV follower(Note: I haven't said XUV lover) then I am sure the car has something which forced me to like it.

@RK sir: whenever you go to Pune do tell me too. My hands and feet are also itching for that black cat.[evil]

Hold on,,, earlier you said you had TD of STORME now you are talking about real TD was that previous TD FAKE [evil]

After so many interactions with you I noticed one think that YOUR HEART IS ALREADY IN XUVs HAND[:)] even if you do real TD and write some review, it is very difficult to believe that your review is truly unbiased.

By real TD he meant extensive test drive of Storme pushing it to its limits. He of course has driven it and is very impressed with Storme but he will only give his final verdict after a deatiled TD.[:)]

Actually he is a neutral person when it comes to TATA Vs Mahindra. He has no brand bias.He only speaks what he conceives as truth.

Earlier the XUV didn't impressed him but later on it seems now he likes XUV:I don't see anything wrong here. Here in our forum you are free to like any vehicle you wish.

So dear Mr. Ranger, please stop poking TSIVipul and start to understand him.Trust me when I tell you,you will simply be floored by this person in due course.[;)]

Yes it was, at least for my own standards.
Any TD doen without experiencing the vehicle completely is FAKE and will always be FAKE for me. Any doubt my buddy?
It's not for no reason that I always insist for at least 40-50 kms long TD so that I can test the vehicle in 3 crucial areas:
Dense stop-move traffic, moderately moving traffic and high speed traffic. And if any one of these three is left then TD is incomplete.
In Storme I am yet to perfectly check:
  • In gear acceleration of higher gears because I haven't got a good stretch.
  • Steering response at high speeds.
  • Body control at high speeds.
  • Braking and braking behavior.
  • Meaty part of powerband in every gear.
  • And a lot more...let me do the TD, but yes, our other members are more expert than me and their words are more reliable than mine.

After so many interactions with you I noticed one think that YOUR HEART IS ALREADY IN XUVs HAND[:)] even if you do real TD and write some review, it is very difficult to believe that your review is truly unbiased.
See buddy, I surrender in front of you.
Whatever you have mentioned is 100% correct and I accept that I am a Storme basher. Anything else you want me to confess??

Any idea if Tata is developing higher displacement engines? A 2 liter engine pulling a 2 ton machine is not something that I am happy about.

its mostly got to do with the drivetrain or gearing ratios since many of the parts are shared from the aria.
other than that i believe , the ECU has been remapped to overcome/reduce turbo lag.

Ok No need to confess just be unbiased is enough, but when you do your real TD? please go well prepared, write you response with cool pics/Video of the vehicle, Video would be more appreciated (moderate quality of video is fine).

I guess you are completed other 2 scenarios expect high speed one.

Will wait for your REAL TD[sleep]

XOVER I didn't poke Vipul, I just tried to clarify my doubts[surprise], If he is so neutral why he was bashing storme before TD? he would have kept calm like others, So A doubt as been created n i asked him directly(bulls eye).

Xover, You also ask him to go prepared(with camera) for is HighSpeed REAL TD at least we can see how he tested in what extend then we decide [roll].

I missed the topic but IMO the XUV is a much better car. I checked out the strome at Tata dealer and found Xuvs interior better. IMO the Xuv looks better and is also a good VFM. I did not take a test drive so can't comment on the engine performance of the strome but I know that the 2.2 in the tata is not as reliable as the Mahindra because tuning the ECU wont have an effect on the cars reliability. And the Mahindra also has better after sales and I am guessing better resale.

yes i agree with you here , test drive report must come with many pictures only then the review becomes very interesting , educative , informative and fun to read .

many would love to see which and what type of curves and what max speed the strome was driven .

it is purely subjective.
I cant like Xuv, it is still a wannabe urban softroader.,I would go for Aria anyday.
For a proper good Suv, Storme ticks all the boxes.

I have also heard people say that mhawk & meagle engines are more durable and reliable than the 2.2 dicor mill. It that's indeed true, then Tatas have to seriously consider re-engineering their engine.
