Of course it is a problem of mine, I wish to buy a good pocket friendly SUV but what the heck so much of goofs and reliability issue.
when is it going to be consistent,by next apocalypse ?[roll]
what reliability issues jaydev are you talking about storme ?

When it doesn't reach rest of the world, majority of people, the customers what purpose does it serve ?

@ Gurrala74
Please do check why did I say that, before passing a comment.

@All. The good news/speculation from another source

1.A solid, better built[panel gaps and fit and finish inclusive]than my current 2009 Scorpio and a reliable vehicle at least as good as the one i own. So I would at least wait for first six months or so before spending my money on it as I am short of confidence with both a Tata vehicle and TASS.

2.The engine performance [a must]should be at least as good as my current vehicle in both slow speed and higher rpms .

3.As I will only interested in the top end for my next upgrade, I would need a contemporary and pleasing dash with at least Auto Climate control, Cruise control , a touch screen with ipod/iphone connectivity+GPS at least

4.It is already equipped with Air bags, ABS [4-channel] + EBD ,I guess which are a must for me.

5.A 4WD /AWD is welcome as i am not going to plough any rice field with my car.

6 An improved TASS at least as good and cooperative and proactive as ITL trissur[M&M]

7.Oops. A better ride quality/handling than my current vehicle

8.I am ok with the space in my vehicle with my third row always rested in my store room.

these are the ones i can put together at the moment.
The look[external] is fine with me considering it as a safari upgrade. If it was an all new fresh design the decision making could have been much quicker and more convincing.

@ Raja

Its really surprising the way storme is marketed isn't with such an average kerala launch.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Road Test Review

what difference will it make to me if it sells more or less.
It will definitely make a difference to you . Your low selling car (I am not saying lowest selling or non selling) will look unique and standout amongst the crowd of best selling cars found in various parking places. You are likely to feel proud and ceremonial about it every time you move out or enter the parking places with onlookers turning their heads toward a less seen car . And you will forget about the one time launch function witnessed by you at the venue or on the screen.
Only condition is that it should be good looking and not nessesarily better looking.

Lot of experience with Tata, they leave you high and dry at critical time.

2.The engine performance [a must]should be at least as good as my current vehicle in both slow speed and higher rpms .
Probably good on its own but poor compared to rest of the cars in segment

3.As I will only interested in the top end for my next upgrade, I would need a contemporary and pleasing dash with at least Auto Climate control, Cruise control , a touch screen with ipod/iphone connectivity+GPS at least
You have Xuv or Rexton at higher end.

4.It is already equipped with Air bags, ABS [4-channel] + EBD ,I guess which are a must for me.
That is appreciable in storme
5.A 4WD /AWD is welcome as i am not going to plough any rice field with my car.
I like well equiped cars.

6 An improved TASS at least as good and cooperative and proactive as ITL trissur[M&M]
ITL mahindra is 5 minutes walking distance from Tata showroom.but look at the quality of premise and attitude of employees in mahindra showroom you feel like much expected guest where as in Tata showroom you feel like you came at wrong time every time.

7.Oops. A better ride quality/handling than my current vehicle
Storme qualifies very well I suppose.

8.I am ok with the space in my vehicle with my third row always rested in my store room.

This is what went wrong with Fiat,Fiat over estimated Tata and ruined whatever leftover image they had.(of course Fiat is notorious on its own)

yes tornado only weak link can be I won't get wet dreams or goose bumps as many "might" be getting looking at sales figures monthly of their car. Each to his own some decide the worth of the car by sales numbers alone ,some decide looking at what the car offers to them as per their requirements, some as per the size of their family( number of family members) and some for the features it offers and some just for the brand. And all are right on their part.

A car doing very good numbers never mean the car is best, but yes..ONLY GOOD OR BETTER CARS DO GOOD NUMBERS AND THIS FACT CAN'T BE DENIED. THE CAR WHICH SCORES BETTER 'OVERALL' ALWAYS DO GOOD NUMBERS.(Example: Duster..)

@ jaydeo +100 on most of the points.
@ Tsi V , very true ,and, poor sales figure doesn't always mean a bad car.
.If well informed decisions are taken with eyes wide open , there should not be a problem and this forum is serving the same cause IMO.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Road Test Review

have you read my post properly ? I have asked ironrock a question and i have said i support tornados theory because iam living with it any problem with that ? And if world for you is only our forum then we have 11 people who have either booked the storme or bought one .
You might be buying car on basis of sales number I don't i buy a car which i like if it sells great fine if not i dont care i use a windows 7:5 phone it suits me and will not buy android because it has a lot of market share .and iam just putting my point across to iron rock for his post.
Time to check your googles maybe they have turn purple from pink now.
Class leading space but lesser under thigh support.
Less space for the taller driver.
Does not it means flawed ergonomics?
Even a 6 ft guy can sit comfortably in a scorpio in the second and the first row.
What extra benefits does that extra inches of space provides?
Turbo lag is present and for this reason i had added the duster in convention since it too has turbo lag.

buddy iam not denying the fact iam just saying cars doing less numbers doesn't mean car is bad example - rapid, micra, pulse.

So someone says tata is not reliable show them the reliability thread and say that tata is reliable.
Likewise when i say no niggles experienced on this forum i am told to check other sources.
If the broader spectrum is to be considered, then anybody can say tata dishes out lemons on a consistent basis.
That is a bigger crime than some niggles.
I am done discussing these strange beliefs.
thanx god you are done finally.so we can move ahead . Btw were have I told you to check anything did I ? hope you are fine and enjoying goa.

The fact you have mentioned is neither 100% correct nor can be 100% denied. Moreover, don't you think it's too early to say such a strong thing (THE CAR WHICH SCORES BETTER 'OVERALL' ALWAYS DO GOOD NUMBERS.) for Duster which has yet to prove itself in every possible way, leave apart looks as they are subjective.

Re: Tata Safari Storme Road Test Review

@ freakdude: Any plans to book the Storme or Duster buddy in the near future?
Not in immediate future, but YES I'd definitely own a Safari someday and Duster didn't impress me much, rather disappointed when I drove Storme and Duster back to back. I have also detailed the same in my review.

I didn't felt any underthigh support problem in storme .I am 180 cm+ with shoes in situ.

The extra inches are helpful for movement of middle passeger while alighting , or movement of bags without disturbing the RHS or LHS passeger too much in the mid row.
Same is true for front passeger seat, a bag or child placed in between too legs can move out easily without a necessitating the front passeger to get down.
