Normally if the radiator fan is still running when i am about to switch off the car,i wait until it has completely stopped and then only i turn the ignition off. This is one thing which my driver asked me to practise.

Hey maranprashanth, only fan runs. Called up the service advisor and he said it's completely Okay.
Hi Mukesh

Firstly congrats on your beast.. it is really looking awesome

I guess every BOY in India has dreamt about owning a Safari in his lifetime and driving a Bullet on open roads... Havent we all? [:D]

It was also my CRUSH for a longtime and even today i would say that if someone gives me Rs 10 Lakh as goodwill... the 1st thing i would probably do is go to the Tata Showroom and buy the Safari

well all said and done, the issue faced by you is a Non issue. It is a completely normal process of cooling down the engine.. It does happen with the Palios and many other Fiat and other cars in India

Dont worry about these small things and enjoy your ride safely...[clap]

If the fan motor is running after switching off the ign. the battery will get drained so the SA can't say that its not problem.
Systematically if battery drains the self will not crank so Better be carefull there may be a mistake iF so tell them to change the whole related wirings

@Mukesh: Please don't waste money for 3d mats. If it was 20%-30% more than normal than that could have been in choice card but at 5 times more cost its waste. Do an Full vinyl matting with an liner don't go to accessories shop those people don't stich but cut the mat and use quick fix and temporarily they make it ready.the vinyl mat for complete car STORME will be 1000-1500 there are three quality the one which is more flexible and rubber like is durable and costly too that will do fine and get black normal PVC mat for 750 for two rows this will be more than enough.

This is my opinion
5k for 3D mats is not a wastage, in fact it's very good long term investment for vehicle costing 10L+. PVC mats look downright cheap and ugly (They suit only M800), whereas 3D mats will enhance interior looks and very easy to maintain. Wiping PVC floor matting for such a huge car is very tiring. Whereas he can simply shake the 3D mats outside car and remove lose dirt and wash only when required, they won't slip from their place and original carpet will hardly ever require vacuuming.

Also OP is from Delhi, so rain is not a HUGE deciding factor. Maybe Chennaites see value in PVC matting for this reason?

@mukesh,

Most of them have answered your query.

Dont worry if the fan keeps working if the engine is off. BUT if it stays on even after the key is taken out of the slot, then you have to get your electrical system checked.

Thanks a lot guys for your suggestions, just came back to delhi from Ranthambore National Park and luckily Spotted a Tigress (T-37) in zone number 9. Driving storme on highways is fun, speed was between 100 - 120. Twice my friend took sharp turns once he was at 120 and other time it was 80 kmph and believe me Storme behaved properly even at 120 ABS & EBD worked properly. Problems i faced in storme:

1. Thud sound from only rear side while crossing pot holes on above 80 kmph, had to check but did not find anything. Not sure what is the actully issue, Do you guys think up size tyres are the culprits?

2. Noise from rear door only when the roads were bad.

apart from that no issues at all, enjoyed a lot.

BAD NEWS: Lost camera in jungle during safari, dropped somewhere and could not find one. So cannot place any picture. Sorry for the same [cry]

Hi there

To resolve your Radiator Fan Query:

The Fan will remain on for a while, if it was in movement before turning off the ignition. So no problem in this, as the fan will take only 15-20 seconds before it will shut itself down. This is a safety feature, not a glitch, as this will keep your engine cool as it is supposed to do this.

The battery of Tata Aria and Storme are capable and designed in this way to take load of this safety feature, so no worry on this issue.

My Aria also has the similar kind of setup and the radiator fan if on at the time of switching off the ignition it will remain on for 20 seconds or so.

Yeah buddy, my friend was holding it when we entered in to the jungle, it was freezing cold and at that time we had taken a blanket in the open gypsy. Don't know when our camera fell down. We searched a lot but could'nt find it back. It's been 11 years since i am going for jungle safaris but first time i spotted a tiger and my bad luck could not take a single picture [frustration].

I think that thud sound is normal. Since its only at high speeds. It happens in all the cars.
Thanks for the reply navnit013 but thud sound from rear is quite loud and don't feel it's normal. Have never heard this sound in my SX4. Has anyone else in our forum faced this issue?

If it is such a big sound, the it looks to be bit abnormal and some thing is touching somewhere, just check it out at TASS for better examination[:)]
