Re: Tata Safari Storme Breaks Cover (Launch Coverage: Pg.322+)

@Sanjay I wish you a great time with your beast and expect my visit to Pune in my next Mumbai trip where I would like to meet all our TAIans in Pune and enjoy driving your Storm and IR's XUV
And then we can get exhaustive comparison of both. [clap].

Between, I just received the message from Sanjay, and he clarified one of the doubt about minor vibrations on gear knob. It was due to not proper air pressure in tyres. More on this only Sanjay can clarify. [clap]

Hey guys, I am planning to buy Storme LX in January and need your expert comments. The options in my budget are Scorpio & Storme. In future i don't want to regret on my decision, I love Storme but the SUV should be easy to maintain. Please suggest if Storme LX is a value for money SUV?

439 pages in this thread says it all. It is a testimony to Storme.
As per the initial impressions, Storme is really great buy. Long term review no one knows. But looking at the thing in hand. I don't think so you will regret buying Storme in future.

Storme is VFM? OfCourse, for what it provides at that price range. [clap]

Thanks a lot Dharmesh, Safari has been my personal favourite SUV since beginning. I also went to mahindra Showroom to check Scorpio & XUV 500 with my wife and luckily she rejected both Mahindra SUVs. But the SA at Mahindra warned me for a very higher maintenance cost + mielage of Safari as compared to Scorpio & XUV. I am not aware of these facts as i have never owned any SUV. That's why i am little concerned. Since childhood i always dreamed of owning a black safari but due to higher maintenance of black color i will go for pearl white. Also urban bronze is not available in LX model [frustration]

@mukesh,We can only hope this new product would be reliable but before spending a million Rupee just give thorough check at the showroom and Tata service centre.
As far as Tata is concerned, possibilties cannot be ruled out that you and storme would be at your own, nobody to listen.
that was my peice of experience with Tata which a few other poor souls shared along with.

Mukesh you have driven it right ?

Rajdeep has lx storme too , and he did consider it over a Scorpio .

IMHO storme is very vfm product

1) all disc brakes

2) abs

3) music system

4) body coloured bumper .

Best thing to do is go drive a Scorpio and then go to abs motor and drive the storme whichever you feel is great buy it .

Rajdeep will post pics of interiors so you can take a look too , beside that Rajdeep can help here more on explaining why he got a storme over any other SUV present currently in our markets .

In Mumbai I was told urban bronze is available in all models [confused].

Mahindra s.a will tell you safari is expensive to maintain and tata s.a will tell you Scorpio is taxi muv not SUV , so don't belive them go with your instinct .

Storme has many new mechanisms like chasis and suspensions and once you drive the older safari and storme you will see the difference easily .

In older safari and Scorpio I may suggest you Scorpio . But the storme IMHO outclasses the Scorpio in most of the departments .

And iam sure you have seen the storme and Scorpio both in real right ?

Ironrock will come with his review soon , he too can guide you here .

Buddy, I too felt black needs higher maintenance. But Belive me, White needs more care than Black color[frustration]

In my Black Indica, Just wiping with Micro fibre cloth in early morning was enough. but, In my White Vista, I need to care more. I'm searching for any dark marks & cleaning it regularly.

All the dust's are clearly visible in White when compare to Black.

Make your dream Live & go for Black.

Black is always sexy & Classy[glasses] White is Royal & Grand

have a test drive of scorpio and storme i am sure scorpio will be ruled out.
and about high maintainence cost storme will take time to prove itself.that is a risk that you have to keep in mind while buying it.so do what your heart says between scorpio and storme as i dnt think storme is something you will regret and scorpio is a well evolved vehicle.

the drive of storme is miles ahead of scorpio.

lx is real VFM ,almost everything it covers in terms of required features.
regarding black color i used to think the same way as you said.
but buy that makes you happy in present.
future is unseen.this is what made me buy black over white.

So your confusion area seems to be VFM+Maintenance+Mileage.Lets talk about them one by one:

Value for Money

At 9.95 ex-showroom New Delhi Tata Storme is the most vfm SUV in its class. You are getting features like:

1. Disc brakes all around(all 4 wheels).(A life saving feature which no other SUV has got at 9.95 lakhs)

2. Super advanced 4 channel(active on all 4 wheels independently) Bosch 8.1 version ABS with EBD.

3. Body colour bumpers.

4. Engine immobiliser.

5. Central locking/rear demister.

6. Rear floor mounted AC vents.

7. 140 bhp engine with enough grunt and power.

8. Lounge like interior space.

What more would you get at 9.95 ex showroom price??!!

Maintenance

With 4 year warranty you would need not worry too much about maintenance.

Mileage

Mileage at 14kmpl(ARAI approved) for the Storme 4x2 is much better than Scorpio. So need not to worry about it too much.

So if your heart is set upon it no worries in getting Storme'd'.[:)]

Listen to your heart buddy. [clap]
There are many safari lovers [owners] in this forum who are very happy with their vehicles.
In future please never ask any SA about other brands. Its like asking suggestions about scorpio in a Safari/storme TAI thread.
Mahindra Scorpio m-Hawk is a reliable vehicle. I own one[Fiery black] since 2009.So far it has been a different and wonderful experience [vehicle and ASS] especially due to the fact that I was driving an Tata Indica before. I am planning to keep it until 2014 where I may have the luxury to choose a car from all new Scorpio ,a refreshed XUV or a face lifted Storme[ probably] with more luxury thrown in.[glasses]
The current Scorpio is a 3 year old model as compared to storme. With Scorpio you have a proven reliability track.
If you are not in a hurry, I would suggest you to wait for another six months or so and then take a call.
If your mind says that you can’t wait, go and get a Black beast storme.[:)]
