Come'on guys this is one big launch: first major iteration of a 10-12 year old model. So let us dissect this vehicle and try to point out +ves & -ves.

My 2 cents:

1. Turning radius of 5.4m is impressive.

2. Looks are always subjective but IMHO front end is quite chic. In my book its a better looker than Aria & XUV:- Aria has a minivan look & XUV styling is OTT with fair share of cut-copy-paste.

Until the reviews are out about Safari's engine performance, fit & finish, interiors etc., I would not like to jump into any conclusion.

Another awesome Ad from TATA Motors!

I still like the older version of SAFARI!

Looks good,but somewhat similar to the older one.Minor changes done at the front.Removal of the spare wheel has not done good.Wish they could have done more to the interiors.Lets wait for its pricing.

The front looks good but the rear without the spare wheel spoils the look!


Atleast hoping they'll place the Strome in the right Price sector!!

From me, 1+ to this car.
Back spare wheel is surely gonna be missed but again, this is done for good. The main rattling sound will be killed for ever due to this design.
on a positive note, More stickers can be added to the rear. hehehe
I luv the work from TATA.. Keep it up.

Pricing is also subjective

But as per SA iam in touch it will be below 10L OTR for base model in delhi.

According to internal Tata sources, they will launch Merlin with front facing third row seats ala Aria , also the option of side facing jump seats may continue to exist on demand.Cheers.

Hope this will be true, front facing seats are comfortable for big family for long drives.

An upgrade is always a Welcome move for me! This Safari although has its fair share of positives and negatives but if with added reliability and added safety, less price I would not hesitate to buy it. I have always been a user of Indian Brands (I believe in SWADESHI) howsoever bad they might be, they are always trying to improve nowadays.

Howsoever, GOOD technology might Honda, Toyota, Mercedes, BMW, etc. introduce I will only promote Indian brands by using them. I must not say this on a public forum and this is not the thread to say it, Yes I am aware of it! But, I feel that some people needs tobe awakened.

Well,only one problem is that the Tata's have some special technology of producing those large panel gaps and the 'attention to detail' is something which looks like Tata's simply hate it,why?Have a look at these pics(At least the Safari in the ad needed to be perfect):-

I will love my current safari more now . after seeing those spyshot i hurried to buy old safari . Old safari has butcher look compare to this more like van or grande and with tire on tail it complete its classic look which is ageless

Nice but i still dont understand why is the A/C knobs above the audio system !!!!. I hope these guys at TATA take care of these basic issues, If it was the other way round then things woild have been simpler, dont u all feel the same. and that aftermarket audio system looks cheep !!! What say ?
