Finally The Xover brings the final truth about Merlin:
yes is based on ARIA platform [x2] chassis.hurray.

new rack and pinion steering

new anti roll bars

amazing interiors and fit and finish.


handling superb thanks to low travel suspension


and many more, watch this space.

Tata Motors should be replacing the existing Safari with Merlin. In that case, there’s a probability for a better pricing. Tata now have a good opportunity to think over, but just hope they don’t end up repeating the same saga of what Ford did with New Fiesta.

XUV5oo and Safari Merlin are different catagories.

Safari Merlin is supposed to be a true Off roader SUV where as XUV5oo is a cross over/soft roader.

If XOVER is right about Merlin details then its a positive news. In that case, I hope TML will get rid of Safari tag and won't repeat Indica-Indica Vista, Sumo-Sumo Grande fiasco.

But then why on earth TML keep almost the identical look of Safari ?

News -

• Merin will launch in December or Max by Auto expo.
• Production not yet started, only 4-5 test vehicles are prepared. Testing is still going on.
• Pricing will be around 11L-12L.
• Merlin is not based on Aria rather it is totally based on jaguar range rover.
• Front looks are more like jaguar range rover.
• Interior quality will be top class.
• It will be worth waiting.

good to hear some update

hey mastersquall,i do not want to make tall claims about merlin and after its launch you may still choose xuv, but take my word for it MERLIN will have better ride and handling combo than ARIA with quality equal to Aria and almost 2 lac rs cheaper than Aria.
I know that still most people will go for crappy mahindra products rather than classy tata products but as a car the MERLIN will beat XUV black amd blue.
