Guys!whats the best pick between Old and merlin safari

well you can decide now based only on looks! wait if you like its looks or go for current safari if you like older one..but new one can have more features i presume!!

Guys!whats the best pick between Old and merlin safari

MERLIN is definetly a way better pick over current SAFARI,why?Here are some of the obvious reasons:

1. MERLIN is nothing but a improved safari that has taken a lot of cues from Aria.
2. CARL PETER FORSTER was very keen on merlin and there are speculation in other internet forums that LAND ROVER has played a major role in testing of MERLIN.
These are only few of many reasons why you should WAIT for MERLIN.

The Merlin shown in the picture is not based on X2 platform . It means there will be new SUV in future based on Aria platform. This is a disappointment to me.The only improvement it seems could be torque on demand four wheel drive mechanisam. It means it would be available as ALL WHEEL DRIVE mechanisam. Now it seems that old safari would be discontinued !

in some car show i saw they were telling new merlin is based on aria platform??

suddenly tata marketing about current safari has picked up,there are several ads on print as well as tele media that current safari starts at 7.95 lacks only (wooooow),.Does this mean that they are clearing the stocks of current safari or MERLIN has further being delayed

Hi, where it says that ? They are telling abt XUV500 launch !

It is believed that Tata Motors is launching a SUV suddenly to counter its rival Mahindra and Mahindra. M&M is all set to launch its SUV Mahindra XUV 500 on 27th September 2011.

guys lets hope that this time Tata get the engine tuning right. Lets hope that Safari not only gets Aria's 'dual mass flywheel' engine , but also gets Aria like ride and handling to make a perfect driver's suv

Guys, the launch seemed to have delayed till october 11 ,but Merlin with high benchmark of Fortuner and because of it attaining high quality parts and bin from ARIA, its going to be the fastest SAFARI yet,and THE XOVER ain't joking this time,Mahindra SCORPIO

Reading all the above material certainly suggests that TATA Merlin will be worth a wait for those on the look-out for buying a new SUV.
My Question still is TATA Merlin vs Mahindra Scorpio VLx (Both AT and MT)

Well, reading all the above material suggests new TATA Safari aka Merlin will be worth a wait for those SUV buyers who are planning to go in for something new in a short period of time.
I have a question here, if there is a poll, how many will vote for the following SUVs/Jeeps/Off-Roaders ?
- TATA Merlin ( Top end )
- Mahindra Scorpio VLX ( Both MT and AT )
- Force One ( 140 HP of Mercedes fame )
- Ford Endeavour ( 4x2 Base variant )
- Well Customised Thar CRDe/ Thar Di (Customised as per your own choice)

I would certainly go for the TATA Merlin. Else, I would go in for a Thar (paying half the money than any other SUV and lavishly spend a lakh or so doing it up as per my choice). Now isn't that intelligent ?

Well that's a good question.
If it is for pure off-roading then my hands for Thar as it is made for that purpose,Thar looks like beast in the stock variant itself,so if you don't mind spending on it,i say its one heck of a looker.But be aware you have to fix a hard top to safe guard your valuables,and the rear benches are positioned face to face,think when you carry more than 5 people on board in the long journeys they may tire the occupants and you have to fix an a/c by your self.

Tata Merlin is yet to be released,so you have to think over what it has got!

Mahindra Scorpio is as usual a good bet on off-roading but my mind is pointing at Thar.

Add XUV-500 to your list which is releasing by this month end.
