@Ilango:
Only hard pressing of accelerator is not enough to drift the cars like Safari etc,this practice is okay for the bigger and more powerful cars.While the technique of driving in third at about 1500 rpm and then dropping to the second gear and then press the throttle hard and pop the clutch,and then see it drifts and if you want an even better drift then firstly leave the throttle and within one second(so that rpm does not fall under 2500)firstly hit the brake hard and then press the throttle again suddenly leaving the clutch.

Why to brake with a jerk?
Actually this is to get the mass of the car removed from the rear wheels so that they can easily loose the grip,else if you simply press the throttle hard in second or third gear with steering inputs,then there are very less chances of drifting,or the drift is nearly negligible.

Hats-of to you for drifting an OMNI!!!

Reverse gear drifting is never done by me,will be trying it once I get my TSI back,because only turbocharged power can make a good drift.

@Ilango:
This weight shifting is needed to be practiced while driving the cars with low power(say low power to weight ratio).while with the cars like BMW 330i or Audi A4 3.0 TDI have enough power that you don't need anything like brake application or clutch application for drifting,but for the vehicles like Safari etc the brake application at least assures that you have made your rear wheels loose the grip and hence you can pull a good drift.

+1 to you for the fact that this practice is extensively used for new tyres.

Even i would agree that the grand vitara is a brilliant suv. It excels in every aspect whether power, performance, looks or comfort, the vitara makes for a very good overall package. And i sincerely feel its one of the best SUV's in the Indian market today!

2.4 is good package not 2.0 . 2.0 has bad acceleration but they improved it in 2.4 but if they reduce its price then i say its great package in the end its big sister of gypsy so expect her great off-roader

@Mastersquall and Ilango:
As much I remember,the Gypsy comes with open differentials and is quite prone to get stuck while in slippery conditions..
While Safari etc have limited slip ones...
Am I right??

Ilango,guy I don't know that much so please be elaborative while telling me the fact..

Master:
You have covered nearly 6000 kms quite early..FE is also great and with added safety and control of ABS,its really easier to drive this car.

well due to work i have lot of visit here and there . but i can drive it 1k KM more before father will put restriction on me and i won't drive safari till my marriage get over that is 6months wait >_> . One of father condition before buying safari they had put .

about gypsy yes you are right but gypsy is light so even it get stuck it can be pulled out in no time but safari being heavy will get stuck . LSD does help as long as you have one tire with traction if not even it will get stuck . Will test if LSD work in 2WD mode or not
