@Ilango:
Only hard pressing of accelerator is not enough to drift the cars like Safari etc,this practice is okay for the bigger and more powerful cars.While the technique of driving in third at about 1500 rpm and then dropping to the second gear and then press the throttle hard and pop the clutch,and then see it drifts and if you want an even better drift then firstly leave the throttle and within one second(so that rpm does not fall under 2500)firstly hit the brake hard and then press the throttle again suddenly leaving the clutch.
Why to brake with a jerk?
Actually this is to get the mass of the car removed from the rear wheels so that they can easily loose the grip,else if you simply press the throttle hard in second or third gear with steering inputs,then there are very less chances of drifting,or the drift is nearly negligible.
Hats-of to you for drifting an OMNI!!!
Reverse gear drifting is never done by me,will be trying it once I get my TSI back,because only turbocharged power can make a good drift.
