While the Tata Nano Diesel launch is not in the offing, what might come a lot earlier to us is the new Tata Nano Twist Active AMT launch. The latest Nano Twist variant, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2014 in its concept avatar, has been spotted testing by our dear friend Omkar Kulkarni, who has managed to even bring interior spy shots to us! Also, the spotting makes us believe that the Tata Nano Twist Active AMT launch might happen as soon as in late 2014/early 2015.

While the Tata Nano Twist Active AMT will feature revised exterior styling. it biggest highlights would be the AMT transmission and the open-able hatchback, thereby increasing the practicality quotient of this car.

The upcoming model’s front fascia gets a slightly revised set of headlights, new bumper and new bonnet trim.The car could also come with a set of revised taillights and a new rear bumper. On the inside, the car would feature an Electric Power Assisted Steering or EPAS, a new instrument binnacle, beige upholstery and higher quality of plastics. While the engine details of this car are unknown as of now, it is highly likely that it will be powered by a new three cylinder petrol engine with a max power of around 67PS. The car could also get front disc brakes and a revised suspension setup.

The Nano Twist Active is a part of Tata’s strategy to project the Nano as a more upmarket brand and it will be interesting to see of the new strategy, along with new models like the one we have here, would be able to vitalize the sales performance of the Nano.

A high speed ride over a pot hole can cause that. Engine at the back. Rearwheel drive.

Nano being so light at front, I dont think a pothole can cause a dent.

Yes that was the pics they posted from the Delhi Auto expo 2014. Looks like now TML is standardizing the shape of its steering wheel across all the models. Bolt, Zest and now Nano - all steering wheels look similar and GOOD too .

I think the above car is not the complete production vehicle of Nano with AMT. Maybe TML would have fit the AMT to the existing Nano for the testing purposes.

Or it may also be that the steering is just fit with the old one for testing purposes and when the full production vehicle comes out it may definitely have the new TML signature steering wheel at par with Bolt and Zest.

Lets wait and watch. But whatever is TML is upto now, its all in a very good direction. Thanks to HorizoNext and its creator!

Why everyone talking about the 1L petrol mill? Still no clarification on that front. Expo Nano was fitted with the same 0.6l engine. Was the 1.0L engine showcased at the expo? BTW 0.8 Dicor will be seen in a LCV positioned b/w Ace and Super Ace..!!

because 3cylinder 1L petrol engine is conformed in bigger nano and at presently tata just concentrating on petrol powered nano's because they want attrack personal car buyers thats the main reason they are delaying 0.8L dicor powered nano and at presently they are testing 0.8L dicor motor in TATA ACE and nano i think TATA already launched non turbo charged 0.8L dicor motor in TATA ACE HT.

yesturday TATA unveiled TATA ACE HT with nano's 2cylinder 0.6L petrol motor in philippines so now its clear that TATA will use their petrol engines in their LCV's so in near future we may see Revotron 1.2T TATA Super ACE and TATA Venture

my option is that 1L petrol motor powered nano doesnt have any scene bcz present 600cc motor have enough power to pull the car and current 624cc 2pot motor have chances to increase the power more then 50BHP because current one is 2valve per cylinder SOHC motor so if tata will convert this motor with 4valves per cylinder DOHC motor means they can able to produce more power and addition of turbo charger its even fun to drive
