Re: Tata Nano – To Its Best

Some thing is cooking under the hood
Unique Idea. I hope you figure out how to close bonnet completely with this thing installed.
-------------

Done with PU Leather wrap on dash board, wanted to do in black colour material, but I found extra material lying at house from last year's sofa works so decided not to buy new material. I am not professional leather worker or anything.

This was just DIY attempt, results are good not perfect, but I don't mind having those minor problems. Hope you guys like it.

I used Loctite General Spray Adhesive and locally available rubber adhesive. sunmica is not mouldable so it wont be possible to put it in one piece, you can try wood finish vinyl or matting i guess, even PU leather is avaialble in wooden patterns.

wow shibu, i am glued, this will be like too good deck opening with struts.
i wonder if the same can be applied to the boot? just the metal part below rear glass, more so if it can open like the engine cover on volvo buses, should give it a try.
thanks

hello Nano'ions
Is there any DIY to connect the 12v dc socket , there is provision for 12v dc socket but no wiring present beneath it in nano lx.

I still haven't found how to replace the nano oil filter, any DIY inputs would be highly appreciable.

which part is defective? no warranty for tubes and pipes. if you have any leaks in condenser or evaporator coil, that part will be replaced in warranty and you have to pay for AC labour and AC Gas refill

i have changed the same , the coil costs around 5k, made by Behr . TASS took around 5 days to do that job.

The coil got rusted and that made a small hole.

The condensed water stays on the coil causing it to rust. this is a common problem in nano.

Before turning the engine off. switch off AC and let the blower alone run. wait for hot air, then switch off engine. this will avoid rusting.

also ask TASS guys to check for any blocks in the water drain pipe.
Change pollen filter also
after the work ask them to spray AIRCON cleaner in the vents, this will avoid odour

I too got the odour from the AC vents in my Nano Twist during my last drive. This happened when it was in blower mode only. The odour goes the time I switch on the AC. It has hardly run 1000 kms. Will give it for first servicing this weekend. How long is the AIRCON cleaner effective.
