Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

Amazing feat!
This should lay to rest all the doubts about the reliability and longevity of Tata cars.

Just out of curiosity - Whats the normal service interval for Zest, Bolt, Tiago where engine oil needs to be changed? I believe it could be 15000.
Has any other auto manufacturer attempted such a feat?
No Idea. But the NON-STOP Endurance is due to continue for 15000 kms as per Adil J D's tweet. Changing the engine oil when the car's engine oil is hot should not be easy as it requires a cooling time. The pit top is only for 2 minutes to clean wind shields, refuel and change tyres at every 3500kms, Driver too change. May be they are going to do it at the end of endurance.

I guess its a Typo, 100Hours of nonstop endurance.
Oops.... yes.

These cars being driven at an average speeds of around 128kmph, to maintain those average speeds that means they have to be driven around the 150kmph mark. This is to compensate for the refueling, tyre rotation etc.
The max I have driven at top speeds in a sustained manner is not more than 20 min since we would inevitably slow down because of unpredictability on our roads.

The endurance test cars had their oil change on Day4. The snaps are here. From the picture it seems they are using castrol edge fully synthetic oil(from the colour of the container) of the recommended grade. curious to know how they changed engine oil without turning engine off. My logic dictates its impossible to change engine oil with engine running. See the image 5 for the colour of oil, its too dark if for a petrol engine drain (cant recognise from which car its drained) also the fuel filter (image 3) are changed too.
