Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

I had heard that Tata manufactures trucks with Daewoo, and the some characteristics have been implemented in the Tata Prima too.
Yes as I wrote these trucks were the first effect of Daewoo takeover by TATA,so no surprises here.

Those trucks Looks like Mommy of Tata Ace .
LOLOL [lol]

On my recent visit to Korea, I saw Tata Novus trucks in good number. I mean majority of the trucks were Hyundai, followed by Tata-Daewoo ones. Tata has built a remarkable presence in world automobile field.
O wow what a great news.[clap]

I personally have never seen any Novus trucks on road,I didn't even knew that they existed before yesterday.

And Nano is being talked about around the world. One of my colleague from Poland has spotted a Tata SUV in his country. May be Aria or Safari. Tata exports to eastern Europe market too. I didn't know. TATA's journey is definitely an epic. People around the world are inquisitive to know more about TATA. Mostly relate it with Nano. When I say I also own a Tata car, first question would be " Is it a Nano?"
That's true Nano has really stirred the world car scenario by its path-breaking pricing and innovation.

BTW,the SUV your Polish friend talked about must be TATA Safari as its sold there.

The provisional list of candidates for the 2013 European Car of the Year (COTY) award has been released and there are 34 vehicles in the list. The eligibility criteria to be part of the nominations are various, including a launch in the past 12 months, projected annual sales of at least 5000 units and availability in 5 European countries. Out of these 34 vehicles, 7 will finally be selected in December and 58 journalists from 22 European countries will decide the winner. Each jury gets 25 points to assign to 5 cars, with not more than 10 points going to a single vehicle.

The list of cars range from different categories with most of the vehicles not on sale in India. However there is one Indian entry, in the form of the Tata Vista. There are little chances of the Tata Vista making it to the top 7. We feel the BMW 3-Series (F30), Hyundai Santa Fe, Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Rapid, Fiat 500L, Volvo V40 and Peugeot 208 will make the cut. We strongly feel the Volkswagen Golf will take top honors, when the results are announced early next year. Which car do you think would become the 2013 European COTY?

I think the new Beamer has got the most chance of bagging this prestigious award.

Vista: I am surprised that it has made its way nay forced its way into top 30,surely TATA has come a long way,but European Car of the Year:-no way.

TATA Pixel will have a chance though when it will be launched in Europe 4 years down the line.

Re: The Story of Tata's Epic Journey from Trucks to Aria

Hey there are no words stuck to me after reading all the pages of this thread and watching those beautiful pics of TATA vehicles[surprise], its really a great effort and we can divide this into two parts, an era of TATA before Mr.Ratan Tata took over and an era after Mr.Ratan Tata on the TOP. It is a huge road where TATA travelled so far and all the concept and upcoming models looks to be very promising[clap] and there great aquisitions of Rover & Jaguar !!

But only thing worrying me these days that how TATA will be after Mr.Ratan Tata depart from the top and I clearly see the signs with Aria pricing strategy and the much spoken SUV these days the Storm launch delay and other stories about it. It is clearly a racing competition era of Automobiles with all the global companies launching their vehicles in India and Tata really needs to change their thinking entirely and adopt some really fastest strategies to be in the competition !! I wish that TATA does it even after Mr.Ratan Tata depart and make him more and more delightful with their new vehicles with " less niggles " & " realistic pricing "

How much ever we beat out at TATA's there is always some nice moments to cherish that how big these guys are can also been seen when you leave the country and go stay anywhere in any arabian country, might be they are not like the Japs and Kor cars, but what not they are there everywhere and in everything, one simple piece of info get out on the road and finish your 1 hour outside and come back to your home and i am sure you would have never missed seeing a TATA vehicle.

I just love the black TATA safari Dicor [glasses]

We all need them and they are there whenever you need them i meant a TATA vehicle [lol]

Tata Motors to take on Hyundai with 6 new products – What do you want them to be?

Good to see TATA's getting aggressive about regaining it's lost market share, I always believe that if a car maker can't grow in it's own home market they can never succeed in the export market.

Somehow i feel Tata should first get its house in order-make quality of all its existing products top notch with the least problems per car in each segment.Best ownership award for each segment could be a target-Toyota gets these basics right most of the time.
They have all the elements for success-good products,a vast dealer and service network, and a marvelous boss in RNT!
Wish Mr Slym the best in getting the passion back!
