+1
I liked the rear looks of Manza. If only they have modified/redesigned the front to match the back, it would have been great.

Re: Tata Manza Detailed Test Drive Review

Personally my take on Manza design is the rear if looked at isolation looks pretty ok, but then looked in side profile anyone can say that the manufacturer has worked too hard to make a hatchback in to a sedan.

But for a flagship sedan Tata need to come up with both a better front and rear, a proportionate, balanced design (take some inspiration from the clean lines of vento and simple design themes).

Tata's design department needs wholesale changes, small botox isnt helping. The Indicaish front will not gel well in a sedan design. Get the designers to work on it Tata!
Manza front can be beautifully facelifted , just by changing its front grill like latest Chevy Cruze, or presentJaguar cars. If fellow TAIan lxi obliges with his photoshop skills , it will be a good clue for tatas.
manza rear is inspired from Cadillac. Even upcoming Cadillac s are coming with similar rear.
Here are few images of upcoming Cadillac s

Re: Tata Manza Detailed Test Drive Review

When is TAI going to review the Club class manza?
There are not too many mechanical changes in the Manza club class as compared to the original Manza. The difference is only cosmetics and of course much better(read feature laden) interiors. So I doubt we'll have an official review of the club class like we had of the Safari Storme!

Finally Nailed on a Tata Manza Qjet

Hi All,

This is my first post and thought would start an ownership of my recently purchased Tata Manza 2 weeks back. I used to drive an old honda City which I never wanted to sell away but due to its engine block damage had to do. So the hunt began for a new car in December when there are heavy discounts on all vehicles.
I started off with tata and droove a Tata Vista Qjet and was happy with the test drive. Then I saw the Manza which had a very good deal and the discounts went upto 1 lakh including the dealer discount and exchange offer. Sat in the car but somehow after comparing to a Honda gave up the idea.
Next was visited Toytoa, Hyundai, mahindra for a verito but could not made up my mind. I was looking for a car for around 6-7 lakh bracket and needed a sedan. Finally after 20 days of research could not finalize anything and thought of keeping my honda and do an engine swap maybe.

Out of the glory on 28th December Tata guys called up from Rama Motors and told they can offer much more attractive pricing and would love to have my visit in the showroom. I visited and took a test drive of the manza and was surprised with the power that Fiat engine with 90 PS had to offer. Thought again 1 day and finally booked the manza base Model named Aqua, Since I already had a kenwood ICE and some good bass tube from JBL thought of taking the base model.

i go the delivery in January and after that liking the evry bit of the car. I read many reviews of the car and the niggling issues with tata cars but till now its going well. Have done around 800 on odo with ! trip outside city. Its a true VFM car with lots of space and comfort. Whosoever have driven my car they cant believe that tata made such a car which is so comfortable to ride and tat too in this segment with loads of space.

I got aftermarket handrest, Chrome strips around the side doors and bumpers installed ( got from Taiwan from one of my friends), Got seat covers, reverse parking sensors, Wooden finish for Dash and a 3M Paint protection and anti rust treatment done.

Recently though i noticed that when 2 people sit at the rear I hear a squeaking sound from the suspension. Since the first service is due at 1000 I will mention that to TASS.

Uploading couple of pictures but have to click more. Will be doing this weekend.

Re: Tata Manza Detailed Test Drive Review

I have noticed one thing in this car, it feels as if the VGT doesn't seem to work well enough in the 2nd gear. However in the 3rd it does a great job and the turbo action is smooth as expected. My old indigoCS used to blast off as soon as it hit turbo range in 2nd gear even after 5yrs. of abuse. I know manza has a VGT but still, I should feel the turbo effect. Is it just my expectations? Manza owners please give your thoughts.

Manza's right ORVM is a disappointment they dont open wide enough give a full view of even the adjacent lane.

Actually, I've been using it the that way since day1, my car is also driven by other people in my family, who dont remember opening it. I am looking for a permanent solution. What was going in the heads of designers ? This is a huge safety issue.

@achinjain91 , The VGT kicks exactly at 1800 rpm at around 70 Kmph. Yes in the Indigo we used to get turbo in 2nd gear also but for Manza 3rd/4th gear is ideal.

By the way just noticed your car is of the same colour as mine, only mine is Aqua and yours Aura ABS. I guess they might be from same batch.

@achinjain 91 and Highway Ranger, Yes the OVRM is absolutely pathetic and has a very limited range[frustration]. Often 2Ws come to my right side without much of my knowledge. You can try to install a small Blind-spot mirror to avoid this.

Cheers,
Anshuman

You are right Anshuman, I tried the same Blind-spot mirror and I'm not facing any issues while changing the lane and also in city traffic[;)].

Ok guys, a few days earlier I went with a friend to take delivery of his new vista VX, which has electric adjustments. And I can confirm the range of right orvm mirror has increased, now it is comfortable to drive these cars.
Now I'll have to know whether this fix can be done to existing ORVMs or do we have to change the whole assembly. Im simply annoyed by this, the sole purpose of having such strong orvm frames gets defeated when you have to "slightly" open it and wait for an idiot biker to knick it and bring it back to its worthless position.[frustration]
And does that blind spot mirror attract high beams from all over the place behind?

@Anshuman
Yes I have learned to live with this gearing. I shift up early in both gears at around 2000 rpm in 1st, 2.5k in 2nd and
utilize the turbo in the 3rd though I still like to stretch 2nd gear till 3k sometimes.

Now, another question to owners. Where is the bootlamp sensor placed? Because whenever I fold the rear seats the bootlamp is on. I fear my sensor is not working properly and is not turning the lamp off on time. Your inputs please.
