Re: Reliable Diesel Manza: Unpredictable But Improving TASS (40K Kms Report)

Finally , I bought the upsize tires bridgestone Turanza ER 60 195/60 R 15 at N.mehta tyre shop Pune.
Here is the buying day and immidiete drive experience . http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...w-tyres-tata-manza-post302361.html#post302361

@releesh , pics are also posted there.

Today , I received a call from phoenix TASC , call was based on my feedback given to TATAS few days back .
I had experienced my resentment about their inability to solve the rattle issue First he enquired about wh ereabouts of my car at present and when he came to know that the car is 30 km away from the phoenix TASC .He intelegently asked me to bring the car on saturday for free monsoon checkup camp .
Also , the clutch feels hard in heavy traffic. , I had told tatas that it was TASC duty to check the clutchat the time of 40kkm servicing.I was unhappy with the internal front and back glass.

The phoenix guy said that he will do it again on saturday, as if I have left the glass dirty till now.

.,and I had hard in heavy city traffic

The tire dealer has told to maintain 30 psi pressure instead of 32 psi recommended buy TML in the new tires during first 1kkm so that ride would be non bouncy .

BTW , I got a dry powder based 1/2 kg fire extinguisher for car. It is bigger and heavier than the routine fire extinguisher seen in call center taxis . The fire auditer said that the smaller ones just serve the auditer purpose only , for practical purposes the car needs atleast 1/2 kg canister.

Re: Reliable Diesel Manza: Unpredictable But Improving TASS (40K Kms Report)

I couldn't go to phoenix TASS for socalled monsoon check up .

Yesterday , I felt the clutch hard in city traffic .My leg was aching. I called up TATA 's own subsidiary Concord Pune where I had replaced the clutch 4 kkm back.Nobody picked up the phone /s .So I called up the TML call center, the lady provided me same numbers which I was trying since morning.

I asked her to provide alternative numbers , but she was helpless .I said atleast watchmen should pickup the phone . And I asked her if it (concord work shop) is closed due to sunday ? She was again helpless .She didn't had any info on this . Now it was my turn to be helpless. She waited for a while , but I didn't dis connect the call for long , She didn't had any option but to forward m y phone to the automatic feedback system. At the end of the call automated system asked me to press 1 if I was satisfied with info provided by the call centre executive else press 2 . I pressed 2 , the automated system said that it was ' wrong entry' ., and the call ended automatically.

Today , I had to consult a paediatrician for my daughter's sore throat., after that I reached the concord TASS along with my daughter and manza , it was lunch time .We waited in the renovated waiting lounge . My daughter asked for food , I opened her tiffin and fed her. There were few flies on the tea table due to sugar powder falling on t
it. I had to use the TATA car's pamphlets to keep them at bay.
The SE came in time and waited patiently till my daughter finished her lunch. I asked , if there is a canteen or eatery nearby for myself .Answer was in negative., however they served me nice expresso coffee.

Then , I told him about ,
1} clutch hardness in city traffic,
2} wiper blade leads to ' momentary ' haziness of the windscreen which is annoying and dangerous at night.
3} One wheel cap replacement and tie clips for all wheel caps.
He took a short TD and said that the clutch is not that hard .I told
him , car has came from highway run , and clutch becomes hard only after 5 to 10 km city traffic running.
He said , it will take one more day to correct the things and I need to leave the car at them
overnight.
I said ok , and asked for alternative car to serve my needs till then .He answered in Negative.I said at least drop me to my home.He said , no vehicle is available. I asked him to drop me at nearby bus terminus .He said , no driver is available as all are preoccupied.for the custemer who had booked them for home delivery. He further added that had I came with appointment , this problem wouldn't have occured. Then I asked him , why the hell they were not picking up the phone yesterday ? why the hell TML call center does not know about their working daysand holidays ? He didn't had answer for these questions. I wanted to see the manager of the concord , but he cleverly avoided that saying that the manager has asked to measure the hardness with force meter till he reaches there.

As my daughter was suffering from sore throat and it was drizzling , I asked him to call a taxi , to which he

Re: Reliable Diesel Manza: Unpredictable But Improving TASS (40K Kms Report)

I asked him to call a taxi so that we can reach home without facing much wind and rain , he asked me if I am intrested in leaving my car at the workshop for repair? .I said atleast call an auto ricshaw , as there is no ricshaw stand nearby .He asked me if I am intrested in the work of the car ?

They measured the clutch hardness with force meter which turned out to be 13 to 14 , which was within normal limits .I wasn't surprised as the clutch becomes hard only after 5 to 10 km city running. The manager never came.

The car was parked outside the workshop , under the rain , with key inserted in the key slot of driver's door. I was worried for the remote integrated key as it rain water was directly falling on it .SA said that remote control is water proof.
Meanwhile , I saw a counter where take away accessories were kept for sale eg. Keychain , watches , sunglasses , metal water bottles meant for TATA cars with TATA logos on them.I chose one bottle , but it wasn't fitting in the cup holder of my car which proved that it was cup holder and not bottle holder , however there were no befitting cups for sale!
There were many banners around , with HORIZONEXT ' written on them. I had learnt on TAI that HORIZONEXT is TATA'S new approach of ASS (top notch) But I felt that it must be literally meaning the next horizon. When we see the horizon line , we start walking toward it and reach
there only to find that the horizon has shifted further !

I felt like changing the name of this thread to ' Unreliable diesel manza : consistently deteriorating TASS ' but refrained from doing so as one MR. Gaikwad , store manager , quickly arrange ed a driver and managed to send us to my friend's residence , from where I took his Safari to my home.

This has been a problem for me from day one I had changed wipers within 2 months of purchase yet it dint solve so last winters I changed it to Bosch wiper blades they are better that rest of teh lot but it still does not do teh job in heavy rain & still causes momentary haziness in heavy rain, seems the wiper motor is too slow on teh fastest mode or may be teh windscreen is angled as such that it retains water for longer time. There is some wind screen spray I have heard about which drains water rapidly I will inquire about that tomorrow.

About the haziness , SA asked me to add windscreen wash shampoo in the water and see if the haziness disappears.According to him , this solution would be enough . Enlightened due to his knowledge , I asked him to do the same as car was given to him for running repair and not to me.[evil]

I wonder , how the hell this shampoo going to help during rain ? or am I supposed to add the shampoo in the clouds?[:D]

@gypsy ,BTW , it would be third set of blades , if I need to replace them this time.Do you advise BOSCH ?

Mine were 4th set of wipers in 2 yrs & Yes BOSCH wipers recommended, made of high grade rubber they survived this summer Delhi hot sun quite well without getting out of shape, the shampoo is what I have heard about too, it leaves a slippery coating on the screen that enables the water to drip off faster thus clearing it fast.

This is what I heard about though haven't used it, If I get time I will buy it today.

Last week heavy downpour happened for 20 mins & I was in bumper to bumper traffic & trust me I was not getting good view of the front car & I had to maintain good distance else I could have hit the car either in front or side as big blobs of water were seen just after each cycle of wipes & that blurred the view completely. I even have recorded the video in past showing how blurred the visibility becomes inside manza.

Doctor Saab You could try Hella Dynaedge, recently replaced in the civic and it seems pretty good !
Regarding mist formation(inside), hope you are keeping ac on and front defogger mode ? If its outside wipers should do the job.

shampoo's usually keeps the surface slippery as well as stickey too, have had the experience on my indica with the same issue where the SA adviced to add shapmoo and it leaved more of the flies and dust to stick on the weindscreen later on, so i avoid using them then and changed the blades to bosch which lasted off pretty well till i sold off the indica still were into good usable conditions.

Shop name ? OTR price ?

It is outside mist formation ,occurs as soon as the wiper blade returns , the mist follows the path of returning blade. The mist stays there for half a second and disappears spontaneously.

Inside mist is no problem , as I maintain the internal mileu as per the requirement.

I had bought it enroute at Bombay some 900INR for a pair of 24inch, Manza ones should be cheaper and smaller than that.
Yours clearly is a wiper blade problem, go for dynaedge you wont regret!
