@Safari
Are you travelling via Bangalore by any chance during 25th to 28th, if so we could meet[:)]
As I informed you earlier, planned a different route.

After cleaning the fliter, AC feels cooler than before.

Engine idling sound is lesser and smoother than before service.

Re: After Two Years - Tata Manza Ownership Experience

Completed a 4500 km round trip to Kerala last week.

The last stretch was a continous drive of 1650 km in less than 23 hours.
(Would have reached in 20 hours had it not been stuck with a huge traffic jam at midnight in Pune)

Manza performed well and proved again that it is reliable.
Comfortable for long highway trips and it was a great trip.

Found out during our long highway trips that if it is fully loaded (Boot filled to the brim with heavy luggage), Stability and handling improve a lot in Manza. There is significant improvement.

Thanks anshuman.

Shall post some pictures later or start a new thread for travelogue. Meantime you can view pictures of my previous trip here http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...eri-chitradurga-mysore-kerala.html#post165388

Regarding FE, there is an issue to arrive on the exact figures as there is some suspicion about short filling on the pumps during this trip. In one pump near Hubli, they deliberately spilled diesel. In another one near Hosur, it seemed they were doing some tampering on the meter. Even with all those short filling, it was about 17 km/l when the distance covered is divided by the diesel purchased as per bills. We were cruising at 140 kmph many times and exceeded that for a short period sometimes.

Still I believe the FE is excellent.

I agree fully with you especially if we compare it with unloaded car.

Re: After Two Years - Tata Manza Ownership Experience

There was an issue of coolant leak found a few days ago.

Coolant tank is a a plastic box which is made by bonding two parts - lower half and upper half and leakage happened through the bonded area.

The minimum level mark is on the upper half so the coolant level is below the minimum level.

Took the car to TASS at Vapi

Coolant tank replaced.

Auxiliary Tank Assy - Rs 586.96
ENGINETECH

R/R Coolant Water Tank/Expansion Tank - Rs 0.00

Fitment Charges - Rs 100

Total including Taxes - Rs 787

SA confirmed that Coolant tank is covered in Extended warranty.
However according to them it has to paid and then we have to wait for a refund later since it is an extended warranty.

Brake oil top up done free of cost.
Half of the new tank was filled with coolant from old tank and remaining was done free of cost.

Mine was leaking from the joints & coolant was evaporating due to that I got mine replaced under warranty without paying anything but even after that I see a dip in coolant from maximum to minimum seems the leakage is now happening elsewhere, I have topped 1lt coolant 2 times in last 6 months I will be getting it checked at 50K service next month.

Is this procedure followed for all items under EW?
Also , can some one tell what are all the items covered in EW?

That is what they said.

Items covered in Extended warranty are listed in the Extd Warranty card (small booklet)

Re: After Two Years - Tata Manza Ownership Experience

last week when I was driving to office, noticed that 'Engine Mal function Indicator' is ON (An Orange colour box shaped indicator). Also noticed a coil shaped indicator blinking.

Went to TASS Vapi. They quickly identified the issue as heater plug gone kaput from the warning indiactors. Replaced the plug in 10 minutes.

Charged Rs 900/-.

They did not make a Job Card (only made an internal document for getting the spare plug from Stores.)

After the completing the job, did not give an invoice/bill but just a manual gate pass. When I insisted for a bill, they said system is not linking and shall generate a bill for this when I visit them next time.

According to SA, after switching on, we need to wait for 5 seconds before turning the engine on (ie, wait for the coil and ICD indicators to go off).
This instruction is there in owner's manual and I followed this for last 2 years.
Only excemption is at TASS, where those guys never bother to wait and also at car wash stations.

Same thing is reported in this thread, so we have two Manzas with Glow plugs going kaput.

I have same experience at various TASS.[angry]
But now I blame my self for not mentioning it in the feedback form and not complaining about it during feedback call from TML.

But now I have decided to cut the ratings given if I find such careless handling on the part of TASS.

Also, the hopeless mechanics do not follow the ' pre takeoff and pre switchoff ' 30 sec iddling intervals.
Ironically they follow the rule which is written nowhere , to pull the driver seat maximum forward before driving it.[frustration]

Re: After Two and a Half Years - Tata Manza Ownership Experience

For last few days I was driving with a front tyre with lesser pressure. The only place where nitrogen is available in Daman was blocked due to road digging for some construction work. This coupled with rains delayed correcting the tyre pressure for a while. Then after infating all the tyres to 33 (recommended is 32), found that front right tyre pressure went down again. There was a puncture and got it repaired for Rs 200. Tyre repair guy did not give any feedback on condition of the tyre and due to the rains, me too neglected it at that time.

Next day on a routine observation, found that right front tyre has worn out more than usual. Wanted to do a Wheel alignment, Wheel balancing and tyre rotation. Checked with the local tyre sales cum repair shop over phone and he said he can do it immediately and gave an estimate of Rs 700.

On further thought, decided to book for a service at TASS.
