Re: After One Year - Manza Ownership Experience

I was following your ownership thread during the earlier phase. Somehow i lost it. Today I happen to go through it. Your car is well maintained. The car is glowing in happiness. And so is your Indica.
Glow is mainly because of the colour and TATA paint quality. They have one of the best paint shops in our country.

This pic looks great... its like a cheetah coming out of the trees[:D]
You should have taking this same pic in the night with the headlights ON [;)]
Since you liked it, posting one more picture for you. (Earlier one was while reaching the house and this one while coming out)

Re: After One Year - Manza Ownership Experience

Whats the FE of your car in city and highway?
Last time we got an FE of 22 km/l during our Vadodara trip.
(Average speed of 90 - 100 kmph)

During our last trip it was 20+ with a highway speed of 120 kmph and FE droping to 18 and even less when the average speed is 140 - 145 kmph.

City FE is 15 to 16 km/l

(Observed a City FE of 20 km/l once. But that was only for one time.)

My FE calculation is based on Tank full method.

Re: After One Year - Manza Ownership Experience

thats good figure you're achieving. I'm getting only 14 to 15 in city. Sometimes even 11 to 12. I hope it increases after 3rd service.
As far as I know, Fiat and Manza share same paint booths.

14 to 15 in Bangalore traffic is reasonable.

FE and engine smoothness should improve after 3rd service.

Punto, Linea, Vista and Manza are all manufactured in same plant.

They share the same production lane also. They produce with a ratio of one Linea and 4 or more Manzas

Till recently Mercedes Benz cars were painted at TATA Motors paint booth in Pune. Last year Merc started their own paint booth. Not sure whether its fully operational or still they are getting painted at TATA.

Re: After One Year - Manza Ownership Experience

Thanks Appu.

Booked for a Monsoon check up at Rathod Motors, Vapi.

Today I called them just to find out any such check up camp here after reading in TAI about those in Bangalore.

They gave an appointment for tomorrow. Since I am busy for next two days, confirmed appointment for Friday.

Re: After One Year - Manza Ownership Experience

Went for Monsoon check up as per the appointment. I was late by 20 minutes. Normally that would have taken me to back end of the queue (TASS at Vapi is crowded always). Since it was raining today, I could park my car as second in Queue.

SA appeared within 2 minutes. Other than standard check up I wanted to check the FE and ECU. (For last few days, I am thinking that FE is low)

Car was taken inside immediately and it took 3 hours to complete the standard check up, FE test and cleaning. Cleaning include a full wash, and interior cleaning with vaccum cleaner, air blower and matt cleaning.

Monsoon check up is free.
(Checking all fluid levels, general electrical check, underbody check, tightening all fastners if required, filters cleaning, check tyres and determine whether rotation is required and some more checks)

FE check is done by connecting a lap top and some other instrument and they took a trial run of almost 20 km. Reported an FE of just above 15 km/l in City with AC on.

Charges for FE test: Rs 250 + tax => Rs 280

Re: After One Year - Manza Ownership Experience

Observed a drop in FE and went to TASS to check it since I thought resetting ECU should fix it.

As per me City FE has dropped down to 12 km/l from 15 to 16 km/l with AC earlier.

Even though TASS reported an FE of 15 km/l in City driving after a paid FE check, I have observed FE as 12 km/l during next filling.

Those people at TASS is confirming that ECU resetting is not possible in a diesel car. As per them ECU reset is possible only in petrol cars.

Knowing these people, possibility is that they are bluffing.

{During a trip a few weeks ago, auto fuel cut off activated when the car hit a stone and passed through boulder type stones on the side of the road. Car thought it is an accident and engine stopped after auto fuel cut off. We were not aware of the switch below the driver seat to start the engine again and called TASS for help. After wasting some time by various people, one smart technician at Yash Auto wheels (TASS at Pune) found out the issue. He was telling that he knew it since he is trained by TATA Motors. At that time they connected a laptop and checked ECU. Don't know whether some setting change happened at that time.}
