Re: Tata H5 SUV (Q501 / Q502) Spotted Testing

Fresh spy shots of the beast with production-ready lamps & side profile of the 7 seaters version

Looks like the concept tails is retained and the sleek looking headlamps as well

This looks extremely promising but what will happen to the Hexa once this arrives?
Hexa will be offered to the elite Cabs and HXX will have a free run for the private buyers

I heard from someone close to project that HX EV is on cards and can change the market as the tech is pretty good but might start with petrol hybrid first, engine borrowed from Jeep Compass

a lot of things getting done [;)]

Re: Tata H5 SUV (Q501 / Q502) Spotted Testing

Some more update on Q50X twins
To my knowledge, at least 3 of the current test mules running all around the country are fitted with a 3rd row bench (2 of them are production-ready). Info comes from someone who is directly involved in these extensive testing runs and is very reliable.

Also, one of my birdies was actively involved during the Q50x's (and the x451 hatch's) hot trials testing in Rajasthan awhile back. He rode in one of the Q50x test mules which was a petrol and had 2 rows of seats, with a humongous space behind the 2nd row. A subsequent casual query revealed that the in-cabin rear space is designed to accommodate a 3rd row seat + boot space, which will be rolled out for testing in a few weeks (back then). In-cabin differences will be minimal between the 2 variants of the Q-SUVs.

Another source has claimed that the 7-seater might come first, since engine testing of the 170PS derivative is in the last phase.

As per Autocarindia, H5X would be called Harrier, announcement expected in a couple of days.

On a side note, Toyota has this registered for one of their SUV.

Again going by the naming conventions, the Harrier is more like vehicle family name. Just like we had the Falcons F4 and F5 for Bolt and Zest, this Harrier 5 and Harrier 7 would be for H5x and H7x.

However wish the name should be nice and apt for the beast. Last thing I want them to call these cars Safari.

I remember TATA reserving the name ATMOS for the H5X twins.

But Harrier was the name of the platform for SUMO replacement.

TATA HARRIER would be the name, right? Some news article's revealed TML has registered this name.
Yes, the car will be named Harrier, they have twitter handle @tataHarrier which is still restricted. I am one of the 21 followers. So in all probabilities the name is going to be harrier.

I feel that is a good name for the car and suits the car well. it will be for the first time (if they do) that they will be naming a car after a bird of prey which was being used only as a class name, like falcons for Zest and bolt, Kite forTiago and Tigor, Eagle for Hexa, Osprey for nexon.

Yes its official tata is naming this upcoming vehicle as Harrier.
Toyota do have this name registered with them but not for indian market and tata is the first one to use it over here. There are many such names used world wide by different companies depending which one registers it first.
