So we get some unofficial number, numbers from sources, Autocar says, car has received 16000 booking as of Dec 2018. Now this is pretty decent (if not great number) And if number of bookings lost due to no AT available are minimal then I would be delighted to see this car doing close to 5k units a month.
however, tatas are maintaining super silence when enquired about the booking orders, Mayank Pareek very deftly avoided these questions when being asked. Same with other Tata officials who are pretty active on the social media.
Source:
Tata Harrier waiting period up to three months
That means that the current capacity is to produce 4000 cars per month in a single shift. So they can easily ramp up the numbers if they have been he demand.

Some one said just 50 a day for 25 days takes it 1250 that is not sufficient to handle 16000 bookings. I am sure most will retain the bookings except those who need an automatic GB. That should be launched by June-Aug Quarter.

Has anyone seen interiors of XM or XT variants ,i,m keen to know about how much of the wow factor of XZ interior remains in them
As one of the scoring points of harrier over creta is interior and price wise XT is very close to SX O while XM is pricier by about 50 k to SX of creta so interiors might be a crucial factor for any prospective buyer in that price range

Tata Harrier TVC video ad asks – What does it take to be above all?

A car that is tested for 22 kms and adapted to drive in Indian conditions. It’s robust design is a keypoint. The car has been crash tested at an internal facility for 100s of possible crash scenarios. And this is why Tata claims, the Harrier is Above All.

Tata Harrier configurator is available online now. Adds few accessories (not sure if it adds at dealer level or factory level).
To see same, select Book Online. Post selecting Trim/Color, there is option to build own.
Few accessories are:
  • Front sensors
  • Roof rails
  • Mascot etc.

Test drive reports started flowing in on various sites. It is now clear that TATA brought half cooked product in the market and that also too late.

It is sad to see that people finding Nexon more accomplished product than Harrier.

Tata has hit the sweet spot with harrier pricing esp with XZ but it could backfire as well , as while paying the 20 L consideration of compass sweeps into the buyers mind simply because of its aspiration value , xuv 500 also comes in for the sake of usefulness like 2 more seats, more features ,proven product, and finally the humble creta 1.6 sxo also makes way as its cheaper , more refined engine, frugal and some likable features, and as its considered a segment lower thus buyer also considers XT and realizes that at the difference of merely 30 k he is getting a lots of features with practicality . so it could give tata executives a hard time to explain it to potential buyers
The pricing pattern is such that on value proportion only XZ seems to be right while others in the lineup (XE,XM,XT) look overcharging .According to me XT should be priced 2-2.25 L cheaper than XZ to make it a value proportion (14-14.25 L ) as it misses a lot of usable features as well as luxury features ( difference in features and price of creta sx and sxo 1.6 is the reference ) while XM at 1.25 L less is acceptable ( around 13 L ) and again XE at 1 L difference is good ( around 12 L ) as a lot of buyer in will of buying harrier with limited budget might not feel short charged

The more i am reading about test ride reports and reviews of harrier the more i am leaning towards creta. Anyways without a proper test ride i cannot comment.

Somehow it is too early to decide on such a car that has built hype around it for a long time. I'd suggest give it sometime after test-drives and let ownership reports follow after which try another test-drive. This is too soon to say i believe. Same happened with Nexon when people jumped onto Ecosport but with launch of XZA+ things reversed.
