I already have some of our members' numbers. Yet, all can Text or PM me the contact details.

Just spoke to Varun about the timings. We thought, it would be ideal to have everyone at the 1st meeting point by 5:30 - 6 AM. That means, we should target to leave from the pitstop by 6 AM and will reach the next pitstop to meet the Chennai gang by 7:30 - 8 AM. Will that be OK with all?

Also, it's better to have the 1st pitstop of Bangalore gang little after the EC Elevated Highway Signal, so that will have some Tea Shops for refreshments. What say?

Not sure Appu. We were in Yelagiri just for a day/night. We had lunch from a place called Amma Mess, which was kind of OK. It was a regular veg meal with Non-Veg dishes as extra. We saw couple of such Messes and Small Hotels in that area. So not sure about the food, quality, taste etc. I wouldn't mind give it a try that day and post a update [lol]

Accommodating such many people and car there, is a question to me too. If not all cars, we can park it all elsewhere and get only few.

I won't mind anytime that too for Food [clap] But then, downhill is again Vaniyambadi, which is quite far to go and come back. By then, many early birds would even start leaving.

I don't think we can find much options over net. Worst case, do the BF till the nose, get on the ground there that day find the best by ourselves. If we all would get quite hungry, any food would taste to it's best. If not that hungry, even a best food wouldn't make a big difference. Woowww... What a thought!
Subbu, I like the idea of having heavy BF. and also the philosophy behind taste of food tool [clap]

Appu and others,

I suggest the following options for lunch taking various things into consideration

  • Manage with some food at any place [Small joints/mess anything]
  • Manage with some what OK food with some resorts [I can call couple of places and find out the prices]
  • Pack food from vaniyambadi or vellore [order earlier with some restaurants] and only draw back would be shortage or excess [in which case excess wont be a problem] and it wont be very hot.
  • Final option as Subbu said, have heavy break fast and manage till 2.30 or something come down and have better tiffin/snacks at next available pit shop. In this case we can pack some fruits/snacks with us to manage when some one is hungry

As far as lunch goes, why not eat some good biryanis close to Vannambadi? I heard they serve awesome biryanis, and its very close 2 ambur?????

Ramu
I would stand for that anytime. And yes, Vaniyambadi Biriyani is mouthwatering and I would prefer it over Ambur ones, given a choice. However, to get that, we need to come downhill which won't be really possible. Moreover, we can't find place to park our convoy there as mentioned in previous posts.

I even suggested a different option to Appu. Have someone to cook and serve us hot hot Biriyanis (both veg & non-veg) on order basis. Not sure whether it's possible to find one of that kind there in Yelagiri... If that's possible, nothing like it [:D]

Hmmm... This is going to be a big loss. I am sure you must have taken this decision with no choice. Will miss you. Maybe, Sethu will compensate it [;)].

Guys,
First count the number of heads :)
Then ask the Vaniyambadi Biryani guys whether they can serve in Yelagiri. They can catch a bus and deliver. Make sure you say 12.30PM so that they deliver max by 1 or 1.30PM.

If you have 2000RS + Orders, I am sure they wont mind delivering it at Yelagiri. AppU or someone can pay the token advance before climbing up (morning) so that they do not worry whether it is genuine order or not.

It may work out !

Sad that two Big guys missing the meet. AR Ram & RK sir.

Let them eat "Vaniyambadi veg biryani" [evil]

On a serious note, you need to find the number of veg/non-veg guys attending the meet. So that everyone feel comfortable with what they eat. Some do not even like to eat food from restaurants which make non-veg food. So, better take care of all the needs :)

As I mentioned earlier, we can ask for both Veg & Non-Veg Biriyanis as per our head count. Can you please publish the final confirmed list?

I fairly remember, this was the hotel in Vaniyambadi we relished when we went to Yelagiri. However, the last time when we took parcels from there to Bangalore, it wasn't as great as the first time. Not sure of the reason though.

Just spoke to the number provided in the link. They can prepare and serve in Yelagiri, both Veg & Non-Veg Biriyanis. [clap] Either as Parcels or in the Dabara itself... I guess, the latter is more preferable.

The Biriyani is accompanied with Brinjal Curry & Onion Raita. Additionally, we can also order for Chicken / Gobi 65 / Paneer Pakoda as side dishes if needed. Sweets are available too.

As I wasn't sure of the count, enquired for about 30 Mutton & 10 Veg Biriyanis. He will call me in an hour to confirm the rates. By the time, we can also prepare our final list.

Sirs - After reading this post, would you not want to reconsider your choice? [lol]
