Hi Himalayan,
Don't put Oscar's into your current setup. They grow very fast and it will be bad for all the inhabitants.

Re: TAI Member Pet's Help and Discussions!

@ sethu sir: Oh, that's sad. around 100 fishes and all were stolen in a single night. [anger] how can people do that thing. And yes, it do need time and a lot of patience.
Seriously saying i was not having any interest in fishes or aquariums but after installing the tank three months back, all things changed. It feels good to spend time watching these beautiful creatures swimming around and playing with each other.

Thanks @ draneeshpm for the advise. [:)] actually i have consulted the LFS owner today and according to him oscar's will be compatible with angels, silver dollars and koi's (if these are not very small in size, and these are ok in size)
Do you know in how much time oscars will grow from their childhood??
Really want to have them in my tank, they look so beautiful. [clap] Even 2 are sufficient for my 4'6" tank.

Dear Himalayan,
Please don't believe the LFS,they are there to make money.Oscars can grow up to 8-10 inches in 6-8 months if well fed.You need a 6 feet long,2 feet tall and 2 feet wide tank for 2 Oscars.LFS will tell nonsense, because the faster your fish die the better for them.Read the link below.
Setting up a Tank for the Oscar Fish

Re: TAI Member Pet's Help and Discussions!

Thanks for the link aneesh [:)] got some useful info. The LFS guy had added four oscars in a 2'6" tank. Can you please suggest some other big fishes which can be added to my tank (pics attached for reference). I am ready to give away my koi/carp and angels. I will keep sharks and silver dollars as they are semi aggressive.

Along with oscars you can add Arowana and Flowerhorns,my friend has a 7ft x 4 ft tank, don't know the height,my friend does not have oscars but his tank was set up by a pro and it has many fishes which i cant name. Try finding a good shop & pick fishes which visually appeal to you. I would have posted the pic, unfortunately cant post through my phone right now.

Thanks for the suggestion prads. My problem is that my tank is not that much large to have all these. If i will get a chance to add these monster fishes, i can add only maximum to 2 oscar fishes only. Have heared and read alot about them. I will update tomorrow after visiting LFS.

Still I have no idea about the number of persons did that. I was studing 7th or 8th standard at that time. I kept the net also near by the tank (who knows that will be easy for the thieves to take so easily)

I think it should be only be some known persons.

But okie.

Man after seeing your tank I am tempted to start again. BTW, how you clean the tank regularly? That is one of my biggest problem (since i dont have time to do it myself)

i clean my filter once in a week and 40% water once in a 20 days. Other than this, a well maintained temperature and routine diet.
Well, i am also searching for the oscars and if i will get a good pair, i will buy them and will give away my current fishes. man i am tempted towards them. [:D] (tiger oscars are very beautiful fishes)

Cat Senses.

Cat senses - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Our relative has a Cat which got lost about 5 kilometers far from his house while travelling in a Car near a river bridge. The cat jumped out of the vehicle.

The Cat returned to the House after 8 days of its own.

Is this unbelievable ?. But its is a Fact.

Will you attribute this to Cat's Smell for tracing his master's house ?.

5 kilometers = 3.1 miles which is quite far a distance.

Isn't it ?.

Thanks & Regards,

If an animal has traveled away from the home on its own ,it will make it back, but in your case it was in a car & jumped out & finding its way back is a tuff thing no doubt.

We would have our dog or sometimes our servants dog follow our car from home as far as 2 km & go back on their own. One of my dogs was seen as far as 6 kms away when it went missing for a week, itcame back with alot of dirt & injuries.

But if they get lost in the middle of no where finding their way back is tuff, but i remember one incredible story, its quite historic !

I don't have a fish tank at home, however i've seen my cousin cleaning it on weekends sometimes. Should clean the tank at least once in a month, use better quality filters, put sucker fish(they eat dirt in the glass surface, however they excrete much more at the base of the tank), use glass cleaners made for fish tanks.
