@ chayan - Here in Mumbai too the authorized dealers are selling sun-films, and they too say that its approved type so no problem installing them.
Now police checks on tinted glasses are non existent.

I got Rs. 1000 challan from Khaki Police (normal) for Llumar 50% sides and 70% rear (almost transparent), no sunfilm on front. Its very tough to know that film is installed if its very light and interiors are beige, cop impressed me with his judgement. Vista has HUGE glass area and it looked transparent, just one quick glance and my car caught his attention.

I saw a van yesterday where there was a rope running around the rear area,from which a curtain/or cloth was hung,why dint the guy smear some mud on the glass instead [:)].

I keep seeing alot of heavy tinted cars in front of police station,so guess they are still ticketing the violators.

The cop cannot issue a fine to its owner if those tints came as a standard feature with the car.

Re: Supreme Court’s Order – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

In my recent visit to Chennai, I have seen lot of cars with dark sun-films roaming around freely. In-fact the cab I hired also got dark sun film and when I asked driver, he laughed and said, there is no problem as the cops are only serious about the license and other things !! so Rajvel it should not be any problem for you I hope

Dharmesh idea is looking to be good without disturbing anything and I hope it is easy to install too !![clap] Thank you Dharmesh for timely post !!
Ha Ha. Mr. RK you have n't noticed in my sparky. Still it has sun film.

Re: Supreme Court’s Order – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

I was watching a local news channel yesterday evening and there was a report on cops actively imposing the no sunfilm verdict around the Parel area. Pulling out sunfilms was the most common course of action followed by fines and even confiscating licenses. Don't know how much of it can be believed.

I am in and around that place about twice a week but haven't been pulled up yet. Maybe because my car has 70 VLT on the sides, rear and front and it's difficult to make out, standing outside, if it really does have a film.

Even if you have sunfilms, put a plycard on bonnet -

This car doesn't have sun-films;
Rs.100/- is kept below plycard. Please donot disturb.

Then no one will bother you.

Normally we all talk about rules and brag on telling I still drive with Tints, it’s something for which you should be ashamed about and not something cool, it’s because you have a deferred a supreme court's order and you’re teaching something which is seriously wrong to the next generation

People who still drive with tints, never feel why others don't follow the rules because, when you people yourself don't follow the rules why crib about others, people who still roam with tints on the cars why do you insensible one’s get messed up when someone goes on a one way or do a rash drive, because you yourself have not followed the rule and what you are do right now is a contempt of the supreme court's order which is the most atrocious thing to do by being a legal citizen of India

I don’t understand why people who don't obey the law needs it when it comes to their personal wants

DONT FIGHT FOR JUSTICE WHEN YOU REALLY DON"T DESERVE IT

I did remove tints on all our cars before the deadline, it’s not that because it’s a rule imposed by the state but by the supreme authority of the country

Well know people pinpoint why not ask about it to a politician, very simple I belong to the civilized part of the lot and not interested about the other to whom its of no use explaining, I am one who believes clean you house first the nation would automatically get cleaned up one day

Being a TAI member my request to all is to remove your tints and respect the Supreme Court order; and if you are not interested in doing it, at least refrain yourself from bragging about you cool style of neglecting the Honorable supreme court's order

I think Cops will first allow the the crops to be ready for harvest. [lol] I mean they'll allow the sunfilms for a period of two to three months and then start their usual checking again.

Afzal guru has been ordered to be hanged, he still isn't;
That Kasab is still enjoying his stay in Mumbai despite we all knowing he killed several people in Mumbai Taj attacks. [anger] We are spending several crores for that insect.

Good part is in Pune's high security Yerwada, one terrorist was killed inside the jail by a Pune based gangster [clap].

Law & Justice, both need not be the same. [glasses]

I don't find any reason why we should follow all laws, but atleast for this SC verdict, I welcome it, coz it is logical.
