Re: Supreme Court’s Order – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

Got fined for the first time. Cousin insisting to get them removed, though I don't want them off. Cops not strict about removing them, they happy as long as they can milk tinted-car owners and reach their daily target. Lidless bikers were their only option till now.

Can anybody post car with 70% tint? I plan to fix them if they are almost undetectable.
where is the checking spot in trivandrum? i have to come back home this friday

Re: Supreme Court’s Order – No Sunfilms Allowed from 4th May 2012

@prads- Is this allowed in Bang? I want to get some sunfilm to my car but dont want to give cops a chance to stop me. So checking
as far as I know. Its not allowed!
With the lightest tint on cars, the chances of catching are reduced a BIT.
Well for first two to three days until the sunfilm dried you could make out that there is a light sunfilm(at night only),now even on a gleaming white car its hard to notice.

My mom looks at the car every day but still has yet to notice i have added sunfilms.
I went past police check points including today(nights),the cops did not notice cos it looks transparent & i really think it would be stupid for a cop to rip out such a film.

We're having a crazy situation in Kerala right now, A lot of cars have started to appear on roads with curtains(Using curtains is also illegal.) of all sorts, that too on all the window glasses excluding the front windscreen. What makes this a menace is that these idiots can't see anything out of the side windows or use the internal rear view mirror or wing mirrors while driving and have a car with too many blind spots. I dont understand how they manage to drive without hitting some one else.

Most dumb cops think that this is perfectly legal and don't charge people who use curtains in their cars, Heck even high ranking police officials, MPs, MLAs and politicians are using curtains. So its become alright all of a sudden.[anger]

I think driving in city is very hard with curtains
But driving without sun control films in hot sun is too hard in our country

I have seen some vehicles in Chennai to like this. But not in front windows. Mostly on rear windows. There are some new type of curtains have come which can be pasted at the bottom of the window [may be on the door pannel] and it is kept folded like manual Chinese fan. when ever they want they can just pull it and hook it at the top.

In my recent visit to Chennai, I have seen lot of cars with dark sun-films roaming around freely. In-fact the cab I hired also got dark sun film and when I asked driver, he laughed and said, there is no problem as the cops are only serious about the license and other things !! so Rajvel it should not be any problem for you I hope

Dharmesh idea is looking to be good without disturbing anything and I hope it is easy to install too !![clap] Thank you Dharmesh for timely post !!

Recently visited the Ford showroom in Kolkata. They are still giving sun films as add-ons. When asked about the legal implications, they said that RTO approved ones are still legal and you will have to show them (i.e police) a card which they will provide when you purchase the sun-film.
This is quite different from our understanding of the SC verdict and hence probably not all places are following the same rules.
