Try it in the simple old way:
First put your sim in the old phone.
Open contacts, and in settings or somewhere, there will be an option to copy contacts to Sim card.
Put your sim back to L620.
Open contacts, and in settings or somewhere, there will be an option to copy contacts from Sim to phone memory.
Done.

RK the simple way is from your wave, export all your contacts to your micro sd storage, it would create .vcf file on your sd card, copy that vcf file and import on your nokia, if it does not have sd card support copy it on your laptop fhru the adaptor and copy from your system to your nokia. The old method way.

my sim is already cut and i cant place that in old mobile any more
You can get micro sim to regular sim converter for as low as 40 bucks. Moreover the sim card slots are tight enough to hold the micro sim or the regular sim. It's just the metallic chip part that should touch the contacts.

Try with Vijay's method.

Or if you have Kies, connect you Wave to computer and sync to Kies. Now copy that file onto your L620 if the file is a vcf file.

Edit: Freakdude is also correct. The best and easy method(buying an adapter).

Poor RK [;)] Now the problem is shifted from Phone to SIM ! Hope to see everything sorted out soon. all the best bro.

You can very well sync with Microsoft account. You need not worry about the safety as they do not take your contacts. If someone going to use it, then it would be google ! Eventhough i sync with gmail account, i do not trust google ! They are using our data in some or other way !

Dear members, I did this now

Took a friends sim and placed in my old phone.

Connected thru' kies and opened the contacts in phone and saved them on my desktop.

Now file extension says something like .spb

I can place this file on WP8 but there are folders like documents, music, videos and the trouble is once you place this file on windows mobile, finding it on phone is difficult as there is nothing like my files like on my samsung phone. So now tell me what to do now[frustration]

You do not have an option to export as .vcf in kies? spb looks like samsung phone book ! if you have vcf, you can import easily (according to my limited knowledge)

In the interest of saving next 60 pages , can i give a really easy (however stupid!) suggestion :-

Simply type the contacts on the new phone - you never know you might finish it faster than trying all of the above :suspect:, looking at the positive side you might get your hands very familiar with the touch keyboard!

Hahahahaha, very clever suggestion IR, I was just thinking about the same but they are more in numbers, hence either I may end up bandage on my fingers or my new phone will visit the nokia store for a touch screen replacement[lol]

I am trying to follow your own theory here, what is the use if do not use advanced features

If you wish, I will send a request to you to close this thread. I will open one more thread called "experience, issues, solutions with Nokia Lumia 620"[lol]

Edit : I have just converted all of them to vcf files and saved them on my pc, now tell me where to paste. If I access my WP phone on my PC it shows the folders as documents, music, videos, pictures, ringtones.

in your old phone select all contacts.

and in option backup to memory card.

now connect that old phone to pc and copy-paste that .vcf file on to the computer.

disconnect your old phone.

connect your new nokia to pc and open PC suite.

select restore contacts in the suite and select the .vcf file you saved on the pc.

this is the general idea and options might vary depending on the make of the phone.
