A question to WP users, After I placed my SIM in new phone, all the SIM contacts got imported into the device, but I still have some phone contacts in my old samsung phone and I am unable to pair both the devices and transfer them. I tried a lot in all the ways but not successful. This is very important for me that I need those contacts in my new phone. Can anybody throw some light on this and find a solution for me please
On the Bluetooth on your old phone and open the contact transfer app on your nokia the phone will pair and pull all your contacts

@Raja,

The problem is both the devices are not getting paired. Both are getting recognised each other but pairing is not happening

Nokia's bluetooth has had issues with pairing with other mobiles usually Motorola and Samsung. Do one thing, use Kies to create a contacts file for all your contacts and then upload this to your Nokia using Nokia PC suite.

RK, I am not a WM user but still this might help you. First transfer all the sim contacts to your phone on your old phone. Hoping that you have Microsoft account (hotmail/outlook/msn), Sync your contacts to web. This way all your contacts are online. Now connect your new phone to web and sync again. Now you should have all your contacts in two places. Periodically keep sync up your device so that you will always have your contacts in two places.
My contacts are synced up this way.

Black looks superb RK.Enjoy and keep updating on your Lumia.
Regarding the contacts does nokia lumia the one you got has MSDC slot, if so then in your sammy select all your contacts there and make an apk file on your sd card thru export and import all those in your nokia by importing.

I have a MS account, but rather than doing like that(giving access to web for my contacts) I would like to do it in other traditional ways, sorry I may look like bit conservative(due to the non exposure for a true smart phone so far)

@RK, when you have a nice smart phone start using it to the full extend. Now syncing the contacts is the first thing anyone should do before even start using your phone. There are lots of advantages here.
* You contacts always backed up.
* Even if you don't have access to your phone still you can access contact details
* You can manage your contact details properly since you can access them from your web account. Its easy to manage things on computer than on the phone.
* You can add lots of info like, birthdays, anniversaries, company info etc easily from web(you can do this from phone too but UI will not be user friendly)
* Birthdays and anniversary etc get synced to your calendar in your web account, by syncing your calendar also to your phone gets these events to your phone too.
* Your appointments add it from your computer and will be available on your phone.

There is a huge potential here. Try it, it does not take too much of data too. If you want keep it in manual sync for sync once a day. But dont skip it.

@Raja,
I heard nokia maps are not accurate as compared to sygic. That was the reason behind that post. My brother uses on his phone and keeps bugging me.

@Gurrala,
Thanks for the update. Will check this phone from showroom.
Yes,they are infact one of the worst maps. I was using nokia drive and it increased my journey by 5 km.
Ok, Indian

Tell me how to do it now ??
If you want to transfer,then the app is there by default. But i don't think it works with anything apart nokia ans WP. I tried it with my bb.

First you have to sync your old phone, I am assuming that you were checking the emails on your phone, so there should be a settings in the sync option where you choose 'Contacts'. Once you manually sync it. Go to your hotmail/outlook/msn account on your computer and see if all your contacts are visible.
If so next is to setup sync on your new phone. Make sure to choose 'contacts' along with email. That's it. Try it and let us know where or if you get stuck at some stage. We should be able to help you.
