Using the choicest of swear words[angry][gun][angry] when you see vandals having done this to a lovely, shiny car:

p.s.: Some people have no heart. This was done to my colleague's brand new Eon by some lowlifes of the canine variety who dare to call themselves humans. May the sky fall on them and may their insides be infested by the fleas of a thousand dead dogs. Amen.
Can't understand why would people do this. Its bad enough when the damage is accidental, but to destroy someones property for no reason.

@gm88 I for one believe, Karma does hit back for the deeds you do. I hope it gets back to the one who did this big time and early. I said this to my friend when my car was rear ended he told me "Karma is a most unreliable friend in these instances. More likely he owns the workshop and will profit from the accident!"

1. Applying clutch before starting the engine even if it is in neutral.

2. Checking and re-checking if the AC is on before Starting.

3. Making sure the heater light or the heater Alarm is off before Starting.
(diesel car)

4. Making sure that no warning light is on, after the engine start.

5. AC on after the car start.

6. Making sure to apply full pedal on clutch before engaging the gear.

7. Shifting gears at the feel of the engine.

8. keeping the leg away from the clutch pedal and using it only when required.

9. stepping on the Accelerator pedal smoothly.

10. A throttle on the engine when left in idle for a long period of time in traffic.

11. breaking on gears.

12. Checking while parking and making sure that the car is not obstructing any other car to get out or come in the parking slot to avoid scratches.

13. Leaving the windows open for a 3 minute time to allow fresh air to enter in to the cabin after a long parking in sun.

14. Not using the wiper with spray to wipe the dust out as it may scratch the windshield and damage the wiper.

15. Not allowing a 6th person in a 5 seater car.

16. Not allowing to smoke inside the car.

17. Avoiding sudden brakes and consecutive braking that they may affect wear tear of the brake pad.

18. Making sure to put indicaters at the right time and viewing the rear view mirrors before making the turn to avoid a collision.

19. Avoiding overtaking to the left on a double lane traffic as it may also give to a scratch or a collision.

20. Making sure there is no dust or mud inside the cabin as it may block the AC blower.

21. Making sure to off the AC switch before getting out of the car as if we are in a hurry the next time we start the car may forget to turn off the AC before starting.

22. Making sure to wash the car once in 3 days with out a shampoo and if not possible to wash it with a good shampoo once in a week to protect the clear coat on the paint.

23. Making sure to check alignment and rotation every 5000kms and check in middle if you feel any side pull or something.

24. Making sure to do the wheel balancing after a puncture if the tyre is detached from the disk.

25. Making sure to park at a safer place not under trees and at places where there is a chance of something to fall over the car.

26. Making sure not to put a polythene cover over car as it may affect the paint on top and the hood on longer run.

27. Making sure that the oil and filter to be changed at recommended intervals.

28. Making sure to clean the air filter when required.

29. Making sure to use unleaded petrol and diesel.

30. Making sure not to use any chemicals in fuel and oil for mileage.

Some strange looking ones from my part for my machine i own.
Nice collection! Not just at least one I don't do. Wondering, whether I wrote it all.

May the sky fall on them and may their insides be infested by the fleas of a thousand dead dogs. Amen.
Sam - This curse is worth of thousands of abusive words on this earth [lol] May your wish come true. Amen!

Really a nice thread. I have a strange habit of closing the fuel cap by myself after refueling my car. I never allow the fuel pump attendant to close the fuel cap. But sometimes they manage to close the fuel cap . In that situation i simply drive my car for a small distance and stop. Again I open the fuel cap and close it. After that I can drive peacefully.
Perhaps, you have had any bitter incident in this regard?

I don't know what pleasure these street maniacs get ruining other people's hard earned property.

GM88 - Unfortunately, some do it just because someone else did it for them. Can you believe it? So, it's a payback of Karma?

That is so childish & immature. Why inflict the sadness you suffered on a total stranger.

Nice Thread!!

1. I avoid parking in malls instead I look for open parking with good space even though I had to walk a mile.
2. Look for basement parking in my society and also bribe guards who keep watch on my car.

Why to avoid parking in malls? They seems to be more safe compared to open parking especially at unknown places. In mall they have there security team atleast & most of the malls have CCTV cameras installled

I always look for a spot where he adjacent spots are empty even though I had o walk a little. If not able to find one, I prefer parking next to a luxury car as they would be more concerned while opening doors.

Why to avoid parking in malls?
Probably because vehicles in a mall parking are stacked like sardines which increases the chance of a heartburning scratch when a careless person opens the door of his car that is parked next to mine yours:biggrin:.

Some doors needs to be shut hard, for eg Mahindra, Tata because their build quality is strong, while it is not needed for japanese cars as the body build is lighter.

Others driving your car

Guys what do you say when others want to borrow your car. I have a very difficult time saying no. I try and avoid giving my car to others by saying I will take them etc.

What do you do.

Very valid point! Yes, it's quite embarrassing and critical situation, especially to the ones pretty close to you.

The first thing I would say is that, "Probably, I can come with you.". I Find that be the most comfortable way to say that I can't give my car to others. But, to ones I know well, and especially about their driving skills, I can give it to them. Well, if they don't mind me sitting there as Co-Driver [lol]
