Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

guys which os the best service centre in delhi and jaipur ? im planning to drive down to get it checked.
Motinagar west is known to be good service center in delhi, then there is atrica automobiles in patparganj industrial area. They both are good.
I've not heard good reviews about the Gurgaon one.
Btw, you must have got a service center booklet along with manual etc. During delivery. You can check that.

Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

i have the booklet but thought would be better if i know which is good.
Ok. I gave the reference of booklet to see which service center is in Jaipur. I haven't come across any dealer review in jaipur so cant comment. If Jaipur one is near to you then you can try go there, but if you are likely to travel to Delhi then I would recommend VW Motinagar West service center.

I am guessing even Jaipur must be having only one service station for VW cars just like in Chandigarh. So you better get a prior appointment on phone as they have many cars lined up for servicing at any given time of the day. And yes they let you see what all is being done to your car. No one should stop you from doing that IMO.

Guys I am in a local auto shop here and was looking for Polo door sills. They have both the illuminated ones and the plain ones with just Polo engraved on it. The illuminated ones would be requiring some wire cutting but they surely look really nice. Should I go for them or just get the plain ones and be safe regarding the electrical warranty issues.

When I asked about these illuminated doorsills for polo, they said its not recommended by vw as it involves cutting wires. They told me keep away from it, so I did. Can you proble more into these guys and ask if they can install them such that cut wires are not noticed, may be they use some coupler or something?

Rightnow I tried to ask them about all the alternatives possible but it seems wire cutting will be required and nothing really can be done about it. Though I like the illuminated ones more but the simple ones aint bad either. I am going ahead with the simple ones with Polo written on them. No point in getting wire cuts for a small issue when I completely avoided it for the bigger things like the fog lamps and the ICE.

That's a great thought.

The normal sills look okay. Go ahead. How much are they charging for them?

Here is a snap of the door sills. I got them installed in my Polo. Cost was Rs. 500 for all 4 doors.

thanks Rightnow. Please do post pics of the door sills you got in your Polo. I could not find any better ones in here though the illuminated ones looked really good. Actually I dint survey also much regarding them. Just went to one shop and got them installed.[;)]

There is nothing to do survey on them, all look almost alike. Apart from looks, they also prevent that area near door from scratches while entering the car, well supposedly.
That reminds me, does your left feet touch the car's lower body(near the place doorsill is stuck), sometimes even lower part of seat? Mine does.

No I am not really able to recollect if I have done that or maybe I haven't noticed it I guess. But yes the part does gets dirty(the door rubber beading and plastic area along the door sills ) while getting in or getting out. And I generally wear those big trekking woodland shoes which end up leaving footmarks at that area more than often.
