Yeah sure, an SUV suits the place. Will bother you with some suggestions on places to visit.

Please share your experience after alignment and balancing.
BTW I too got the monsoon check-up done and one of your previous posts inspired me to get interior dry cleaning done as its been quite a while I pampered my car. Now seats are as good as new. I must say the seats' fabric quality is very good on polo.
Yes i have already booked an appointment for today for wheel balancing and alignment. Will update about it later in the evening. And yes the fabric interior upholstery in the Polo is really nice. Although they get stained very easily but when kept clean they look very plush and nice.

Hello GM88,

Excellent Pics Buddy.

Your Pics tempting me to visit the place atleast once.
Thanks a lot Appu. Glad to hear that my pics are motivating people to visit Kashmir. You should surely visit there. You will be amazed to see the natural beauty present in the Kashmir valley. Simply fabulous.

Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

Just got my Polo's wheel alignment and wheel balancing done from a local shop here in Chandigarh. Got all the 4 tyres also rotated. The tyres are in great shape right now after running around 5k kms and none of the tyres had any worn out areas. The shop guy said the tyres would easily last 40-45k with regular rotation and alignment after every 5k kms.

During wheel balancing 155g of weight was added. Dont really know the reason and the utility behind that. Can someone explain this.

Total money paid - Rs 405 for everything including the tyre rotation.

All four tyres taken out for balancing and rotation

Had clicked a pic of the odo as it crossed 5k mark..right now it reads 5250kms

On the mileage/FE front i am pretty happy with the Polo's performance. In city driving getting around 17-18kmpl and highways 20-21kmpl with AC on most of the times.[:)]

Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

Did another small trip to Dalhousie on the weekend. Hills in Himachal are all lush green and waterfalls coming out at various places. Its just beautifl in the monsoons. Lots of land slides too had happened as the mountains there are prone to.
It was all misty throughout the weekend and the visibility was hardly 10 metres in and around Dalhousie. Picture quality is poor as its from my Blackberry phone camera.Lost my digital camera.[frustration]

Yesterday came back to Chandigarh and got the car a nice steam wash and got the interiors cleaned up and the dash all polished as they were all spoiled by muddy shoes and wet clothes in Dalhousie. The car is back as new and spotless.[;)]

I had thought earlier before buying the car that i would not be taking this car on the highway and the other two in the garage would be used for the same. Now i am starting to miss the safety features which are present in the Highline version everytime i'am out on the highway.

Re: Sporty Yet Elegant: My Candy White Volkswagen Polo TDI

Completed 6000kms in my POLO in less than 5 months of ownership. The car is performing extremely well. Earlier i had a little complaint of the FE/Mileage i was getting from my car. Strangely after crossing the 5000kms mark my Polo has started returning back better Mileage. It may also be due to the decreased usage of AC as monsoons are on. Got 20.8kmpl in my last tank-full calculation with usage of 50% city and 50% Highway run.[:D]

Planning to add a bass tube or a woofer/amplifier to the existing set of speakers. Any suggestions for which one to go for?

Hehe. Sure you can do that. Let me know if you make a plan to come down for the same. I'll be happy to help for your alloy wheels selection.

Now I've got a query. I want to install a basstube or an amplifier/woofer to the existing setup of Kicker speakers. Please help as to which one would be a better option?

Hi GM88,

Good to see your Polo crunching miles, on my highway rides i too also miss highline variant a lot and now regret my decision. Airbag and ABS surely add more confidence at those higher speeds.

Did steam wash and pressure wash are different? did they use high temperature water in steam wash?

Thanks ToughGuy. Yes Highline would have had been a safer bet. Lesson learnt for the next buy that no matter whatever may be the usage of the car,may it be within the city or on the highways, safety features cannot be overlooked.

Yes steam wash is different from pressure wash. They use a steam wash machine which generates steam with high pressure and its better in removing some big oil stains or those black stains which you get on your car when you are driving over a new recently tarred road. I had a few black stains on my Polo's rear bumper and they all got removed with that wash. Pretty happy with the work done.

Well that's great. So you now have got plenty of reasons to come here to Chandigarh then. :) You can get lots of other accessories also fitted in your Polo from the local automarket here like the Fog lamps, door sills, etc.

Hearing first time about steam wash and it sounds good as I also am having hard time seeing those black tars on the body. How much for the steam wash?? Is it available with VW workshops too??

I don't know if they are available with Vw workshops. I got it done from outside local shop. One of my friends had got his car done from there and I was mighty impressed with the work done on his car so took my Polo also there. The cost of the steam wash was Rs. 250. I got my interiors also dry cleaned which costed another Rs.350. But the work done was top notch.
