Have got a quote of Rs.13600 for the second year of insurance from ICICI Lombard. Its with zero depreciation and bumper to bumper cover. This quote is after claiming the rebate due to No claim Bonus this year. I think its a pretty decent amount or should i check with other insurance firms too?

Still undecided where to get my car serviced. VW Chandigarh or VW Jalandhar. Anyone with a feedback on the given two service stations?

Didn't get time to check with other vendors, so planning to go ahead with ICICI only. Will be getting it done in a day or two. I got my car on 13th April last year and co-incidentally this year is my Graduation/Convocation day on the 13th April. Has become a real special date for me now.

Haha thanks a lot Rightnow. Yes i am a little over protective while driving. Believe very seriously in the motto - " Better safe than sorry ". And the traffic here in Chandigarrh is still well mannered i would say with no abrupt lane cuttings,turning without giving indicators,rash drivings,etc like traffic in Delhi/Gurgaon. So that too saved my car from getting any major scratch. Fingers crossed for the future.

Haha thanks a lot Rightnow. Yes i am a little over protective while driving. Believe very seriously in the motto - " Better safe than sorry ". And the traffic here in Chandigarrh is still well mannered i would say with no abrupt lane cuttings,turning without giving indicators,rash drivings,etc like traffic in Delhi/Gurgaon. So that too saved my car from getting any major scratch. Fingers crossed for the future.

You have no idea man how good traffic sense do people have in Chandiarh. You gotto drive in cities of U.P to see the worst. I recently visited Chandigarh. It was late night, hardly an traffic, the cab driver stopped at every damn red light even with no one around! I wanted to touch his feet man! All the time and there and back office, I was all praises for Chandigarh's traffic sense. Great.

Haha yup every one has to do that here because there are video cameras on every single traffic light. Even in midnight at few particular points if you jump the red light, you immediately get a challan at your residence within 2-3days with a photograph of yours attached taken at that particular time from that CCTV. Luckily hasn't happened with me as yet,but i know a lot of my friends have got them. So i am sure the cab guy was not doing anything extra ordinary.

I wish Delhi traffic police learn something from their counterparts in Chandigarh, In Delhi people don't have any fear of traffic police people jump lights, run their vehicles on police barricades, zig-zag driving, suddenly turns without any indicator, try to squeeze while approaching flyover, speed up vehicle when saw some one crossing the road, not follows the speed limit, honks unnecessarily, no patience, what not? It's hell here in Delhi so crowded with vehicles

Considering the volume only technology and some hard work can help, most important is people's participation.

VW Jalandhar from where i bought my car is offering me zero dep insurance through them only as their tie up with ICICI Lombard recently broke up. I am in a fix as i've never heard of this company before, but the quote from them given by VW Jalandhar seems to be pretty fine and they are giving me the no claim bonus discount too. Or should i just get the insurance renewed myself from the existing ICICI Lombard itself? I have to get this done by tomorrow max as i am leaving for Bombay for a week and my current insurance will lapse by the time i come back.

Ask thw workshop guys about the services of sombo company. Axa, lombrad, allianz are a sort of empaneled insurers who are present mostly at workshops and normally the process of claim will not take much time in their case. If sombo also offers similar service, go for it.

Got my insurance renewed with Oriental Insurance. They have a tie up with VW Chandigarh here. As my car would be in Chandigarh only all the time, i preferred this one. Although it has its own short comings. Its bumper to bumper cashless insurance, but only two claims can be taken under the scheme and not like my previous one on which i could take unlimited number of claims. Cost of insurance was Rs.13,300.
Will be getting my car serviced around 20th April after coming back from Bombay.

Ohh I didn't know that cameras are installed in Chandigarh.
The truth is that even Delhi has cameras installed at red lights but they do not work at all. U.P would be even worse, if cameras are installed they would be stolen overnight!!
Chandigarh scores on the mindset of general public as well as implementation of rules by cops.

That's good. Shadowfax blue Polo looks really good on road. I do regret not getting the Highline variant that time. But an year back, diesel Highline was way overpriced and there were way less features. Now i think its the most VFM diesel variant with the added features and the price cut. How much did it cost you through CSD? Are you getting Automatic Climate Control also in your car? I guess that is the latest addition in the Highline variant along with the RCD320 Head unit of the music system.
So when is the delivery expected?
