Came back from the drive yesterday. Chennai - Madurai - Tuticorin - Tirunelveli - Madurai - Chennai. A total of 1590 kms of which 1450 kms was Highway and 140 kms city driving.

Total Fuel Consumed: 98 Litres
Average Mileage: 16.2 km/L
5 People and Fully loaded trunk
Tyre Pressure: 32psi on all tyres.
Average speed: 90 - 100 km/hr

Experienced the soft suspension when driving at high speed and with full load. The car actually tends to through the rear seaters vertically at bumps and speed above 80km/hr. It doesnt stop there - the car does not actually stop moving vertically once the bump is crossed. It jerks vertically 3 or 4 times more before coming to a flat drive.

The pick up is awesome. It challeneges almost all cars on the highway - be it the Pajeros or Scorpios. Great mileage as well and the braking is spot on!

The seats were pretty comfortable as well. We did 1590 kms in 3 days with 5 passengers and still didnt fell all that tired and needless to say, I was the lone driver and I enjoyed driving my machine [drive].

Went zig zag on most toll gate speed breaker and didnt bottom out on any.

All I can say is, I just love my car!!! [clap]

When I was in the US, I bought a roof mounted LCD screen that comes with inbuilt DVD player, USB and SD card reader and FM transmitter. Wondering if I can fix this in my Verna.

@All verna owners out there - has anybody fitted a roof mounted LCD Screen in your Verna? If yes, can you share your experiences please.

Noticed a strange thing this morning while backing up my car out of my parking space. There is a huge bump at my house gate. When I backed up, after getting over the bump, my rear wheel was down on the road while my front wheel was over the bump. I tried applying the brakes and found that the brakes were extremely tight and hard and the car was not stopping as well. Has anyone faced this?

can be fitted in any car, not sure how they connect cables though.

was this when you were taking your car out first thing in the morning? sometimes it happens to me, while reversing out of my parking slot the pedal feels tight and braking is weak, i pump a little bit and its fine, other wise the brakes feel to sensitive in the morning mostly after i wash the alloys, it comes back to normal once i brake a few times, i guess its cause the discs gets rusted quick.

Yes Nick - both scenarios were right. It was first thing in the morning and immediately after I washed my car. So I guess there is nothing to worry. Will try pumping my brakes next time if I feel the same.

On a lighter note don't pump too hard the disc's might just pop out knowing Hyundai's fragility of parts! [:D]

Yeah I know!! Guess the discs are not made of porcelain [:D]

BTW - why so much hatred towards the car all of a sudden? I know you loved the car so much - atleast till a couple of weeks ago.

Infact my hatered is more towards Hyundai for making this crap, the car would have been good had they got the right amount of mindset into it. Its def not worth the price they are quoting now!

I did like it initially but then the thought of baby sitting it every time just gets too much. Its like your driving a piece of glass worried when it might break coz its not well made.

i dnt have the confidence this car will last long enough, and Hyundai have made a mockery of our money by showing a nice model but its empty inside.

Nowdays i ride my two wheeler more shows the discontent i have with the car. To top it off the FE doesnt even help, i shud have gone for a second hand civic and still wud have fared better!
