Hi
I am owning a 2009 Skoda Octavia Ambient . She has done 60,000 KM now.
today i have contacted the 2 skoda dealers in Bangalore . Both told that timing belt must to be replaced along with few other pumps . Do i relay need to change the timing belt in 60k even though dealer suggesting to do ? ( I have my friends using Octavia changed timing belts in 85ks and 90ks kms)
Dealers put up an approximation for 55 to 60k . Do i stick to the dealer as 60k is a major service ? . I have never done service out side the skoda dealer .
Any good non dealer service centre in bangalore for Skoda ?
The Actual life of the timing belt is 75k, though in most of the cases , it losts longer. And can you please post all the parts which are to be changed for 60k? And i wont consider it as a Major service if the clutch plate is not changed.

Drive Safe,
Jeno.

I just now made a call to Performance Automotive. They said it will cost 22k for full Clutch Kit Replacement(with DMF).

For more information, you can contact the owner of the Garage. You can enquire about the costs of Clutch with SMF too which i strongly recommend.

Contact Details

Mr. Abdul - 91-9884727777

And please share the details after you enquire. So that it will be helpful for others who are sailing on the same boat. (or to me , in future.. LOL )

Regards,
Jeno.

Any updates on your tuning box?
I am using Petes Tuning Box for the past 2-3 months. The difference is simply huge. Now the car has a strong mid range power.

Car simply flies from 1800 rpm to 3500 rpm without stress. And the turbo sound is now more sharper and louder.

How much is the cost? and where did you buy the product, is there any changes in fuel efficient?

For me, the fuel efficiency seems to be quite unchanged. Im getting about 19-20 kmpl at 80-120 kmph on highways with AC. Which is good, with the extra 20 horse power.

I thought yo had ordered a Racechip box. What happened to that?

BTW today I saw an ad for a 2003 Elegance done 1.5 L Kms. Asking price 3.25L.
I didnt order RaceChip, i ordered ProRacingX tuning box, which is resistor based unlike Petes(which actually does some proper changes). I tried it , but was not satisfied, because it was just over fueling instead of optimizing.

So it looks like the prices have not reduced much. Some of the options do make sense then.
Yeah, but going for a remap will also make sense if you are ready to spend 30k. You will get more HP and Torque. Petes is providing custom Code remap.
