After seeing new M & M Genio, even Xylo is nothing but pick-up truck with some seats & extended roof. I had no respect for scorpio for this very reason & with new Genio, even Xylo as MUV is out.

I wonder what will happen if we get a pick-up version of XUV 500 .
The side profile of pick-up XUV will be better than current one for sure though.

Btw, M & M is going to sell this in international markets also under the name Mahindra MUC.

Even Grande and Xenon share same faces!
And Tata 407 or 207 has the same face of Sierra and estate!
Anyways they did not do well in the markets except the Sierra.

Haha,I come in the knowledge based category,why?Because I love Yeti,for its practicality.Why practicality?Because:-
1):Its a big hatchback who wants practicality of a hatch in city.
2):Its a sedan for those who want the sedan luxury,driving dynamics,speed and economy of a sedan.
3):Its an SUV for cross country movers with nearly all the capabilities of an SUV.

About Pajero,its still the best SUV if you want s true blue SUV.Here in Meerut(and some other parts of UP) as well as most parts of Haryana,its PIJAARO!!

Agree for most parts but one correction Yeti cannot do all the things an SUV can do , it cannot even come near. It just has 4X4 that's it , with its GC it can't do any off-roading.

Pajero is the daddy of all SUV'S and king of off-roading , even the mighty Fortuner has to kneel down in front of Pajero!

Scorpio:- Angry & ready to attack,
Safari:- Smiling, for some hidden reason,
Current innova:- Looks like face of student who got scolded for not doing homework,
XUV 500:- Gives same expression as newly elected MLA in white khadi clothes,
Yeti:- Looks like boxing champion in 50 kg category.

S-Class dear,I think there is no logic behind this reason of yours.Right?So how can you justify your words if I ask you:-
Even Safari and Aria also have ladder frames,and since trucks use them so they are also...

Sharing platform is different than sharing entire body, shape & looks.
Scorpio & pick-up scorpio, 207 had same face like estate but sierra was discontinued long before.

The reason why I like Safari, Aria, or XUV is that they don't share body with pick-ups. Tomorrow if Safari or XUV comes with pick-up version, then I won't buy these vehicles even for 50% the market cost. Coz I hate people to move around in cargo movers.

Understand that XUV or Aria was built with emphasis on humans while rest like scorpio, 207 etc. were mass movers i.e. cargo + people.

+1. Pajero was killed due to Mitsubishi, same way as Lancer (this was a nice car). Even Outlander is good but doesn't sell due to Mitsubishi.

Imagine how well Pajero had sold had it been from say VW stable.

Great debate going. As for me iam trying hard to convince my family for a suv or whatever people call it here , but my family is just about 4 people dad,me,wife and bro. I won't be doing any offroading , nor I have to visit any broken roads ,nor I have some luggage to carry but still I want a suv why ? Iam right now in bandra sipping coffee and just now 1 Audi a6 passed and a land rover free Lander now I asked myself in which I would love to sit and drive it was no doubt land rover . So sometimes it is also about a childhood dream ,something which you think will make you feel top of the world when you fullfill it. For me its is rangerover evoque for my wife it is jag xf .it is all about liking . Now i really won't mind people calling me a wannabe, goon, son of a politician my next car will be a safari,ecosport or duster for sure.and i don't care id it is muv,UV,suv,muplus or whatever.

I am a bit late to this conversation.
I always prefer a sedan than a MUV/SUV.
The reasons are
1) The looks and luxurious (upmarket) feel. ( for eg: an Altis is much gorgeous than a Fortuner )
2) I hate Body Roll. Almost all SUV's other than Innova are having huge body roll.
3) UV's are mostly used as Taxi's. Like a mini bus
4) I like the closed boot in Sedans. So you can keep some fish without turning off AC
5) Sedans have best handling even at high speeds.
6) Sedans are frugal too while SUV's are simply fuel guzzlers.
7) Sedans are even sportier than SUVs. Have you seen any car rally with MUV/SUV?

I am a bug SUV fan but it's not that i don't like sedan's. But truly speaking you need to have a SUV if you driving in UP or near by.

And SUV gives you the "King of the Road" kinda feeling and i always find it safe than a sedan.

Driving in UP is really an issue but with upcoming highways its becoming easy now a days.

About sedans,they are the cars of we people,enough grunt to munch miles in no time,about safety,my view is just opposite to you buddy.

Let me add some reasons:-

1):Sedans drive like cars,not like huge trucks.
2):Ride,handling and comfort,all three favor sedans.
3):Performance and FE,both favor sedans.Simple it is,a 12 lac costing Cruze can easily eat up any SUV double its price.
4):Maintenance costs are way lower than SUVs.
5):Easier to drive and easier to reverse.
