It is a commonly accepted fact that sedans are more comfortable than SUVs.Personally its hard to handpick one as both have their own set of merits and limitations.

I Love Sedans For:

1. The biggest advantage of sedans in my book is that they are really easy to get in and get out.As a short fellow (5'8") I really don't like to hop too much to get into any vehicle.

2. Second vital point in favour of sedans in my book is the smoothness of ride they offer at all speeds, there is no wobbliness or lumpyness what-so-ever.

3. They are much more flickable from a drivers' point of view.

4. The generally have such finnesse of nature that is hard to beat.

Why I Like SUVS:

1. Its really strange that how amazing life is,your biggest merit turns into your biggest demerit.Sedans are easy to get in and easy to get out,but this same advantage makes them susceptible to low ground clearance resulting in unnerving times when you are negotiating a broken patch or rough roads.

2. If finnesse of sedan is noteworthy than so is the ruggedness of SUVs.

What's my solution:

Well after much deliberation I have finally decided that no sedan or Suv is good enough for me as I need a vehicle that has got decent ground clearance to tackle worse of roads which will in turn allow me to go anywhere and do anything, but while doing so I don't want to compromise on comfort,be it sitting comfort or getting in and out with ease comfort.

Thus folks only such vehicle which will have the finnesse of sedan with muscle of SUV is good enough for me and nothing else.

Cayanne is not SUV, it is more like sports car with high GC. And whats the use of cayanne if you are going to take it off road ?? You won't be able to drive in speed in anycase, why bother ? You can though have a look at Merc GLK.
Wrong!, Its more like an SUV with sports car like performance and handling. Could you please explain why it cant be taken off road and what makes you come to the conclusion that one 'wont be able to drive in speed in anycase'? Or are you just joking?

Agreed to what you have said & at the end of the day what matters is individual's use. But I still couldn't find the reason why people who travel within city use UV ? Infact, I have seen many people using scorpio for city travel & that too with 1-3 persons in it.

And for you, there are only 2 vehicles, Innova & Aria.

Cayane is based on VW Toureg. It was designed as more of cross-over than SUV for those looking for sportiness on roads with some off-roading.
And thanks for the video, especially the cayane & wagon one.
At the end, it was proved that they aren't as great as shown to be. And in that video there was nothing extra-ordinary which humble safari 4x4 couldn't do.

And when people over-estimate SUV off-road capability, this is what happens-

I am one among them. I dont understand what's wrong in it. We use the Innova for office commutes within city because I am 6'2" & my brother is 6'3". We dont feel comfortable in sedans. So? Big deal!

I used the Scorpio within city as I enjoyed driving the Scorpio more than any sedan or hatch. So?

A normal SUV occupies almost the same space on the road as a big sedan like a Corolla.

And when people over-estimate SUV off-road capability, this is what happens-
These are SUV's, not tanks. And the drivers should understand that. What ar you trying to prove here?

You can travel even in tank or hovercraft, no issues.
But why keep chanting off-road capabilities of UVs ?
And scorpio is sheer crap when it comes to legroom. As said before, steering wheel gets stuck near knees.

When SUV fails, driver is idiot, right.
So convenient thinking.
Fact is SUVs can only handle roads where cars move slowly. In case of no roads, SUV or SSSUUUVVV can't drive.

All the SUVs get stuck On-road with some ice on it. And these are premium SUVs. After seeing this episode, I lost all the faith whatever was remaining in SUVs. I thought atleast Land Rover & T-Prado should have completed the journey but no.

At the end, it was the humble tractor which did the task where these so called mighty SUVs failed. Entire episode here -

[confused]

Please tell me the procedure to register one & also grant me a driving license for one. I am sure you must have done this, else you wont say this, right?

No car is the ultimate dude, you need to understand that. When we talk about off roading, even Hummers & LRs & LCs get stuck. So, even those are not SUVs? For off roading, along with the vehicle's capability, driver experience also matters. A vehicle alone cannot create magic.

Point is, an SUV is more competent on non existent roads. Take a sedan to the same place, wont it get stuck? So, what have you proved here? NOTHING.

And scorpio is sheer crap when it comes to legroom. As said before, steering wheel gets stuck near knees.
I dont know what's your height but you are uncomfortable in Scorpio, XUV5OO, Innova, Fortuner... in ever car your knees get stuck, GOD knows how! (By the way, you are supposed to steer with your hands... just in case!)

I am 6'2" and I am very comfortable in a Scorpio! And I am talking about why I use the Scorpio in city (since that's what you asked). So I could not care less how comfortable you feel!!!

Please note "I" in bold.

When SUV fails, driver is idiot, right.
Not everytime. Not all SUVs are the best off roaders.

But nevertheless, they are better than sedans off road, that's the point here, right?

In case of no roads, SUV or SSSUUUVVV can't drive.
Your sedans can?

All said and done, the poll results clearly declare SUVs as the winner... by a huge margin.

i am 6.2 ft by height. and i find driving the scorpio and legroom comfortable than even the VW jetta.

also it seems you did not find a steering adjust knob to lift up the steering wheel.

Yes that's my primary concern as well. But I have sorted it out as well one Nano and one cross-over.What say?

Also you mentioned only Innova and Aria, why not XUV500?Will in not fit for my kind of usage?Just want to know your opinion[:)].

The driver seat I found comfortable but the middle row Of Scorpio is really very disappointing if the driver pulls his seat full back there is hardly any space for the middle row passengers . I hope in the next generation mahindra sorts this issue on priority basis .

I still do not feel that cramped in the second row.
There is enough leg room for the middle row
P. S :my experience is with the 7 seat version.
I am not sure about the EX or the LX version since in there the side facing seats are large which might reduce the legroom for the middle row.

The middle row placement is different in these models.
The last row seats of EX and LX are wider for some reason.
