Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Have anyone bought the 3D floor mats from the dealers yet?
They are quoting 8.5K for original. [shock]

Can anyone confirm the price of the original 3D mats outside?

Thanks,
Arvind S

I got 3D mats outside. I doubt dealer would have those, it is quiet possible that dealer might be getting those from outside. The guy has a 3D mats maxpider manual and hand me off those mats in maxpider cloth bag.[:)] It cost me 6.6k,btw. Check my previous posts to get a feel on 3D Mats.

You get those on eBay as well but are slightly over priced.

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Sarah took us to Kanchipuram (Kanchi) today. It was a first out of city drive and is about 160 Km (round trip). I touched 120 and it was all smooth. The road is bit damaged and deep pit holes are almost every where. So drive was not all that great. Last time I drove on this Bangalore high way was almost a year ago. My kids have taken best use of the road facing third row and enjoyed the trip fully.

But bikers are really pain in b** in such small towns. On my way back I used GPS navigation, the directions were flawless. After reaching home right side middle row door found jammed and my son has to engress from the other side. Tried couple of times with all the options finally gave up. But after hour later when tried it opened (the way windows reboot).

I found a bit tough Parking in temple town We crossed 500 mark today. My wife got down to help me with directions. For now parking became a family project. [anger]. Not completely used to reverse cam rear view, that to bikers sneaking in all the directions felt it was bit cumbersome. Compared to this my Fiesta is a toy for me to handle such situations.[clap]

1) somehow my USB drive found to be bent, not sure placing of USB SLOT anything to do with. Has anyone faced a similar problems? It is a 8 Gb drive and at times it recognizes partial folders only. But switching on and off infotainment fixes the issue.

Yet to experience night driving.

Hi Suhas,
Nice to see you enjoying the XUV. But after going through your observations I guess the number of small niggles which has been like a bonus gift from Mahindra along with XUV doesn't seem to be reducing at all. [anger] I had hoped that they have sorted out most of the issues in the updated model. I am in the process of booking W8 and hearing such niggles is making my decision tougher day by day. [confused] BTW is your XUV is what Mahindra calls "ZERO DEFECT" model or the older model. Keep updating your post.

RagMax - Looks like your reactions are bit severe than my observations. These are actually not niggles compared to the ones poped in early phases after launch. Coming to your decision making process, call for as many test drives as you wish to get all your open concerns cleared. Keeping one thing in mind is the product has gone through series of efforts towards making it a problem free. Good luck with your shopping[:)]

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Today, after a long time I spent couple of hours to polish and wax my beast. It is fun but bit tiresome. Like some conventional elders who are still against computerization and still prefer to rely on book keeping, we have our watchman against using Micro Fiver towels and Polish / Wax combo. So I got to jump on the field direct. [:)]

One question, this Carnuba Firmula 1 wax is yellowish in color [confused]- Does it go good with my white beast? I felt after polish car looked much more white than after wax. Is that just feel?

Appreciate comments.

My daughter said - the car looked exactly like when it was delivered[:)] I take the complements

Congrats.[thumbsup]

Your car looks great in this shade.

Wish you many years of happy motoring.

Your car looks very good after the Polish and wax. [clap]

@Singh890, Raj_504 (in case they watch the thread) and all,

Does carnauba wax get a yellowish tint to my white XUV [confused]? As such are there any known side effects? We applied once this week but like to pick your brain to be on safer side.

No Suhas it wont give a yellowish tint to your colour. after buffing the colour if any will go away. and as per my experience all the waxes after drying leaves a white residue.

there are no known side effects of carnauba wax to me apart from muscular pain.

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

Just now, one of the dealers called me to check whether I would be interested in buying W4. I bough SARAH from not this guy but from a different dealer so they still see me as a prospective buyer. W4 will be there for Display and they are taking orders at the moment. Look and feel is same but with trimmed down features.

Will XUV enter Taxi league?? In that case white comes first in the race[cry]

Honey why shrunk the kids, should be fine as long as it bump up the sales figures. [:)]

Re: "SARAH" - Detailed XUV 5OO Ownership Experience

I dont think XUV will enter the Taxi league. Reason being no boot space with 7 on board.
Plu even the W4 will be a bit expensive.
And no options of captain seats.
