looks like nobody cares anymore but below is the latest and the title of this thread seems no longer relevant for at least the past year

Petrol Price Cut by 50 Paise a Litre, Diesel by 46 Paise - The New Indian Express
Hello, Sir, all of us care here, the title is very much relevant sir.
The prices of crude oil have gone bellow 40$/barrel in import market. i. e. approx 2400 Rs /barrel i. e. Rs 12 /lit.
These are equal to prices 11 years back, In those days diesel was costing 33 Rs /lit & petrol bellow 50 Rs./lit.
And, government is not following the 'no profit, no loss 'policy on fuel prices which was followed by earlier government. Otherwise, diesel should cost 35 Rs & petrol 50 Rs despite good profits for oil Co s.

Please previous policy was because the Govt balances were much better then, The Fiscal defecit has really ballooned since then, also Overheads of OMC's have gone up. The Govt is using the easy way for economic recovery by reducing Interest cost by prepaying loans from extra taxes from Petrol and Diesel. Its politics but those showing their angst now should know that the earlier Govt completly bankrupted the finances and we are now paying the bills for those policies.

What!!! Previous policy was because of better government balances? , And then where did this balance disappeared at inception of this govt?,
Have you bothered to read this thread from beginning?
Wow!!!, then why this govt wants people to afford Bullet train on single route.

Anyways, why the government is not cancelling the earlier government 's' no profit no loss 'policy?

This is the most idiotic piece of news I have came across till now in this whole odd-even and pollution control measure jugaads.

So now CNG will be cheaper between 12-5 in night and CV drivers will start queuing up by 10 pm itself for getting CNG at lower cost. Heck, pollution will be less or not I don't know but there will be an increase in number of frustrated wives for sure. Adding to this how will this reduce the number of cars on the roads during day time is way over my head.

Super idiotic idea IMO. First you have poor transport facilities and then you do this. R.I.P. planning and implementation skills in govt.

Rest the picture posted above by FD perfectly explains my situation too.

Sirji the vehicles with CNG stickers will be free to ply all days. Only diesel and petrol car buyers are the sole target this way. In fact only diesel buyers because petrol car buyer will simply go on for a CNG kit (R.I.P. turbo petrols though).

Now already there is a shortage of CNG outlets and with this step the number of CNG consumers is gonna increase for sure. What is government doing in terms of infra improvement?

Again: Idiotic idea

You are the first person to say this , at least in this forum. Not many people are happy by this odd-even rule and they forgot to think about future. Are we seriously gonna leave our kids amidst smog?
