hks,nice shade and good job. what brand of paint are you using? only 1 coat for base coat? wt all are remaining? pearlcoat and clearcoat? do you need any polishing afterwards?

Hi, Ambylovers, the heater room /spray booth facility is not available in the town where my car is left for restoration, as the location is 45 km away from Bangalore, sourcing, hiring and taking the vehicle over there is difficult.

Hi jeyar, base coat is only 1 coat followed by final color and clear coat after that polishing will be done to protect the paint surface. I am using 2k Nexa Autocolor (Deltron-PPG family brand) which include PU color, thinner, hardener and clear coat of the same brand

Hi, the painting cost was finalized for Rs. 35000, which include labor(Rs.15000) and materials(Rs.25000) the total work includes
> Removing old paint
> Applying primer before tinkering
> Removing old primer after tinkering
> Applying PU primer on bare metal + PU Paste work +Sanding+ primer over paste work
> MC Putty work + Sanding+ surfacer on putty layer
> Base coat + spot Putty work
> Final color + clear coat
After that wheel rims, disc hub and rear differential will be painted, under-body rust protection will be done and interior paint, door pad, bonnet inner ,boot inner will be painted mat black and after completion of all work like electrical, upholstery, tinker fittings and mechanic the painter will do the surface protection treatment task
the total number of liters used for painting
PU primer/ Surfacer for 3 stages consumed 3ltrs
Base coat 2ltrs
2K PU final color 2ltrs

Its good HKS, that it took only 2 liters for the final coating. Since for me i tried the Dupont superior white which was very light and took around 3.4 liters.
But nice to see that different color on your car.
