You are right, restored car will not have character without some personal touches. What I was telling is keep personal touches to minimum.
But how ill it be if there are some very useful mods? And performance mods? Although maintaining the originality, performance touches would be very good.

Hi,
Are you going to use the standard HM grill or planning for any mods.
But which grill are you going to use for it? Modern aluminium grill with bigger spaces would look awessome on an ambassador. How about keeping some cool lights and other stuff? They would make it look even much better after being restored
Hi, at present i am using OEM grand grill but i have few ideas which i will implement in future

Your car look stunning[thumbsup]. The choice of color is the highlight of this restoration. Waiting for your interior and final pictures.
Thank you linkin, sure but interiors work will take few more weeks to complete

super work 100% perfect [:)]
Thank you

HKS, any mods done as of now?
work is going on snail pace as soon as electrical work completes i will update on mods undertaken

Good vision for choosing the color.
Color changed from grey to slightly tinge of gold after clearcoat and 3d effect
Good point is to keep everything minimal and original. you have executed it rightly
Thank you ram123

But too original also won't be correct right? No car can be complete without some personalisation.

Hi Guys, i agree with your thoughts on personal mods but yet not spoiling the originality. my idea was to get the car perfect to the base line level and then add some personal touches to it , i have lot of ideas which are in the pipeline but it will take sometime to implement. don't worry there will be more updates [;)]

Hi, location is - S.S Auto Garage, Chickbalapur, Karnataka
Hi, HKS2412 a great restoration work. I have actually seen the car in the garage. I felt work done on the car has really come out well and in particular I like the wheel arches on your car, they look really good.
We own a 89 model Ambassador and it was restored recently. I think Rizwan is the painter for your car, he was the one who painted our car when we had restored it in 07. Due to the poor tinker work we had to restore it again. but this time we were not in a position to go through all the hassle of tinker and painting so we changed the entire shell. I have learnt it hard way that any alterations are off big hassle, and normally they are not carried out well so they don't last. We got our car to the factory spec AC, PS, Brakes, etc, absolutely no alteration. except for the engine which is a 4FC1 Turbo which is a direct fit into the original engine bedding. Also the newer amby shells are light weight and the Chassis is well balanced, even at speeds of 120+ there wont be any vibrations like the older ones.

Your interest and enthusiasm in restoring your Amby is inspiring.[clap] I have been eagerly waiting to see more updates of the restoration since 12th of August.
The mirrors of Chevrolet Spark or 4th gen Honda City would have suited more than those of Duster's. Never mind. Still you have done a great job.
What are your plans in interior? Is it from Ambassador Grand or have you planned any mods?
If you go for low profile tires on 17" alloys, it will be stunning.
Go on. Waiting for updates.
