@MS, Are you talking about ingress /egress or the sitting comfort after getting in on the driver seat for a lady?
Bharath Sir-Of course yes as my mom will be driving the car most of the time so seating comfort on driver seat is important for my mom.

And,BTW,I'm waiting for the launch of new Honda City 2017 version, which is expected to launch on Feb 14th.

Thanks for the inputs everyone.Ciaz is a good vehicle no doubt but there are few grouses with it:

1.Pickup-Ciaz being small engine,it's pickup would be poor as it is a small engine and it can't carry 5 people on board.
2.Build Quality-This is the typical Maruti thing but better than other Marutis. But,it is not solid as our previous Vento and my driver felt it lighter.
3.Design-My mom felt that front design and sides are not good and it felt like Ambassador in terms of design. But,she liked rear design as it gives BMW'ish look and she would feel the Ciaz big to drive.

I feel City is more suitable for ladies as Ciaz's design is too long and City is more lady oriented vehicle:biggrin:.Personally,I feel that Auto transmission would be better for my mom as she is facing leg pains and swellings since few months.

And,is Creta good for ladies with height of 5 feet 4 inches?Personally, after seeing Creta,my mom felt that it is bigger and she felt that Creta is not easier to drive in city. But,my close acquaintance, who bought Creta Diesel AT 4 days ago, said Creta would be easier to drive than City Diesel as it has AT.But,my worry is,will driver seat height adjustable feature solve the height issue of my mom,who would be driving the Creta most of the time?
1. Not really , I had a few cars with 1.3 MJD and have driven Ertiga and Brezza with the same engine , no pickup issues etc at all
Only problem was slightly heavy clutch in the older cars but the Brezza and Ciaz have very light clutches

I have a 2010 City, Im also very tall and need high seating , the height adjust is good but headroom and steering wheel position is a hinderance if so check that out carefully
After driving in Mumbai traffic for so long, I can only suggest that your next car be Automatic and be a compact SUV or even psuedo compact SUV to tackle speed breakers, traffic etc

The 1.5 IVTEC and 1.3 MJD are total gems to drive and after owning and driving both engines for so long, I can safely say both cannot be compared whatsoever
Both have totally different characteristics and most people like one over the other
I love both equally though but my dad loves the 1.3 MJD, my mom loves the 1.5 IVTEC

If you are buying City, only buy the 1.5 IVTEC since its a more refined engine than the diesel variant
Creta Diesel AT is amazing , its very free revving and is comparable to the 1.5 IVTEC
My personal pick will be Creta AT but City IVTEC CVT isnt bad at all either

Frankly Japanese petrols are the best and European Diesels are the best

Since you are considering your mothers choice of car, check out WR-V petrol CVT too
I know 1.2 is a lazy engine but with CVT, its low end is improved and it seems like a raised Jazz with Brezza dimensions
Seating position might be better for your mother imho

Thanks for the inputs kkn13 bro.Yes,if its City, will go for Petrol i-VTEC only as my friends who are having City Diesel 2014 version, said if you wanna buy a City, then go for Petrol only as it is better than Diesel and I have traveled extensively in my friends Cities and found one of the City Diesel(July 2014 one) engine sound is coming into the cabin and this has run 52000 Kms in 2.5 years with lot of abuse. Now they own a Creta CRDI AT too and their City is used for household purposes.Dad was asking about City whether it has AT in Diesel or not and I said no as it is available in Petrol only.

Had seen the new City 2017 version and I felt V CVT(not VX,which has sunroof) would be the best option for us as it has same features as 2016 VX version except sunroof and leather seats.I really like City due to seating comfort and looks and engine and yes,its my childhood dream and have been pestering my dad to get City only.

Waiting for new City launch, which will be launched tomorrow.

But,this time, want to go for Automatic Transmission only due to heavy traffic in our city and my dad is also wanting to go for an AT itself due to leg pains which suffered after driving our previous Vento TDI MT and present car,Innova. And,I too want AT only as I'll be driving most of the time and I don't want myself driving an MT car in heavy traffic.

Now,considering AT cars like Baleno Zeta CVT,Polo GT TSI(just considering it due to small sized unlike Vento),Jazz V CVT,City V CVT,Creta Diesel AT.Not considering Rapid or Vento as we owned one before and current Vento TDI DSG costs close to Rs.16,00,000.But,I heard that City CVT is giving decent FE in city and highways and my dad owns a Jazz V CVT 2015 one and yet to ask his experience with Jazz.

Even,my mom saw one on road and said with my dad,Jazz is looking good but my dad didn't like it as he was hell bent on Ciaz or Rapid or Vento that time.

Id avoid DSGs if possible, they dont gel well with bumper to bumper traffic
But its great on the highway
City CVT seems the best option for you

Same ? Can you elaborate more about this
They say its around the same as previous City approx 16.2L on road Mumbai for top end ZX CVT petrol
Given the risen prices of most other cars recently, seems like a fair deal though it comes close to Creta AT territory
I wish they got the HR-V instead of BR-V/Mobilio

Prices were a bit of a shock in 2014 itself since I paid 10.5 for my 2010 City VMT(top end variant) but all cars are pricier now

Yeah.. I think now they will cannibalize the verna sales for sure. Ciaz will not be affected to that extent, but you can sense already that the new city will dent the verna numbers for sure.. More so if they really prove their claim about efforts given to smoothen the experience of the diesel variant.

OK,our car purchase got delayed again due to lack of funds from our side, which has been pending since last few months and years.Innova is the only car which my dad drives it daily and due to absence of our driver,my dad couldn't drive the car in city traffic but still managing to drive the Innova in city traffic and what worries him his lower FE in Innova. We get around 10-11 Kmpl in city and my dad still thinks that the car is giving below 10 Kmpl. Most probably,we would buy the new one by the end of the 1st quarter of 2017 i.e by June 2017.If we are lucky enough to get the funds by next month, then the first thing we do is to book a new car and accessorize our Innova.

Its been 1.5 months since we sold our Vento and still we are without 2nd car.Hope our cash crunch gets end by first week of March or last week of March.Even cab rates are also getting expensive since last few months.

If something good happens, will go for Creta Diesel AT or else, will go for Honda City or Creta 1.6 SX(Base) as it is in our budget.

Good call, hopefully by March, Creta might even get minor changes like international model with Android Auto and Apple carplay plus new DRLs etc
That way, youll have more vfm when it comes to choosing between the two since both will have new DRLs and HU

Back to square one after many days.

Now,I had came up with an idea of buying an Ameo HL TDI DSG as it costs just Rs.11.5L and after discounts,I will be getting it for around Rs.10.5L(thanks to 10% discount on ex showroom price) and almost Rs.4.5-5L cheaper than Vento TDI DSG.But,whats worrying me is in the same price, you could get an S-Cross 1.3 Zeta or Honda City VMT Petrol with better features and peace of mind reliability by spending few bucks on it.In 2014,a new Vento TDI Highline used to cost around Rs.11.5-11.8L and now Ameo DSG's price is as same as 2014 Vento's price. Now,the same version of Vento costs Rs.14.5L on road Hyd.Instead,I will go for S-Cross 1.6 Alpha with better power and peace of mind and new City VX Diesel costs Rs.15.5L,which is Rs.50-60K costlier than S-Cross 1.6.

I don't know why I feel S-Cross is more VFM than an Ameo,Vento or City and it is Rs.20K cheaper than Creta 1.6 base model and nearly Rs.3L cheaper than Creta top end variants. My dad saw the S-Cross and asked me which car?Its an S-Cross and he asked me does it give 20 Kmpl(remember my dad is mileage conscious person) and I said, yes. He liked the S-Cross in Granite Grey colour.

And,considering premium hatches like Polo GT TSI,i20 Asta(O),Baleno RS or CVT and Jazz CVT(don't want Diesel in Jazz as it is overpriced and will go for City Diesel instead).

S Cross is a highly underrated car
If you like the car, Id say go for it eyes closed especially the 1.6 MJD, absolute gem to drive with 320nm of torque etc (most other cars in this range top out at 220nm give or take)

Also if you have alot of bumper to bumper traffic in your area, DSG wont play nice
Its best for highway use only or if you have alot of open roads

Honda City also is great but the S Cross is better imho

Ameo etc are better bought in manual

Yeah,S-Cross is a good option but only in 1.6 version. This is the perfect upgrade from our Vento TDI who are looking for performance.

Even Honda City is also a good option.

But,City V MT and Ameo Highline TDI DSG are priced almost same in our city.It is difficult to choose a Diesel AT or Petrol MT in that price.
