Oh ok, I will do that for sure & the area that you highlighted in the picture above is not rust but dirt. It is the dirt between the damping material & the firewall.

Yeah sure, I will do that.

Yesterday I had applied body filler, which was not a good quality work (as told by my painting guru). So had to rub it off partially & apply body filler again. This time I have sparingly used the hardener so I hope it is better. A few pics of the surface before applying once again. The sheet metal of the fender is so thin, its hard to work with.

Even today the weather is somewhat unpredictable and hence I cant start off the filler work again. I will have to wait till tomorrow.

In the meantime, I just sprayed a rubber guard (Kent Brand) to the whole floor (inner area), still some areas are left and will be covered by tomorrow morning. A few pics of the same.

Good progress. I was expecting some thing like tar kind of material when you said its a rubber coating. I guess this will not help in any sort of damping.

What about the 3m under seal thing, its cheaper than this and quantity would be more.

I had a bad experience with a similar Kent product, the Kent Toughcoat(grey color). It washed off with water. It is supposed to be used as stone chip but it chipped off with extremely easily.

Anand, once the coat is dry try rubbing it with a wet cloth to check this.

Jarpickle:
The spray is good, but not that thick. It does not come off when rubbed with wet or dry cloth, Its not a VFM product, 650/- for 575ml and doesn't even cover the floor (still underneath of driver seat is pending). I dont have the gun to spray the thick liquids (like 3M underseal) hence I opted for this. But now I guess, I have no other option. I will try to get 2 guns, 1 for painting, 1 for spraying 3m.

Varun:
Any idea how much quantity is required to spray complete floor, inner wheel arches, inner door areas?

Where do we get these damping sheets?

The first gun is used to spray very thick liquids like the 3M under coat.
The second one is a local gun (with a low quality of adulterated aluminium) used to spray paint. And a toy to keep my eyes a bit safe. They all cost Rs.800/-

Good quality, imported, made in USA paint spray gun with screwing lid for the paint container (plastic transparent container) costs 3200/- (comes with a few spares as well in the box). This option was too costly for now, so just skipped it.

I had covered painting with a brush, half of the tin was left out after covering the floor (inside), one tin should be enough for inside and out side.

This is available in one of the paint shops located next to BHEL signal on the main road. (Nayandahalli, Mysore road).

For Ashpalt / bitumen (water proof) sheets here is the address. These sheets are those which are pasted on the floor (inside) kind of tar material. These cost you 80- 120 per sq feet.

Hope this is helpful.
I am waiting for you to finish the Zen, then we can coat my Enjoy as well as 800. [;)]

Today I got the car washed inside out & then went out looking for the 3m under seal. This is the update I got.

Varun:
I visited the shop on Mysore Road (almost 20kms from my home), the guy told me that 3M under seal supply has been temporarily stopped. He himself has over 7customers waiting for the item. Then I checked with him about any other alternative & he suggested me this "Rubberoid". There were only about 11tins left with him. I bought 5 & came back home.

Before I went to this shop I also checked for the same 3M product at Indiranagar (CMH Road, I think 18th Cross) there is a shop that sells Dupont, 2K, Esdee etc Even he said the same thing.

Came back home & here is the shock for me. The coat cant be applied using the pitch gun (red one) I bought. Still working on the best misture ratio for the same.

1.The rubberoid cannot be diluted using thinner, petrol/kerosene has to be used.
2.The liquid is quite thick, doesnt get sprayed even if you dilute it with Petrol.
3.The gun just doesn't spray the liquid (as its too thick), if you dilute it too much, the pressure of the air sends the liquid everywhere.
4.The instruction on the dabba itself says "Use brush/Sponge"
5.After wasting about 45mins in trial & error. Gave up hope of using the new gun & instead used a new brush & applied the diluted rubberoid to the floor.

Few observations:
1. The liquid although diluted takes good amount of time before it dries, it is yet to dry after 9hrs!
2. The layer formed when applied by brush is over 2mm in thickness (sound damping guaranteed)
3. It is too sticky, if by mistake we get our hands (especially hair on hand) with a few drops of this, then its a hour long job before you can clean yourself. (Only petrol can help here)
4. Removing rust bubbles is absolutely must before applying this coat
5. 2 tins are required to paint (with brush, mildly diluted)
- whole floor (from pedals to dikki lock)
- Inside door areas all floor)
- 4 wheel wells
5. For interiors using a gun must be avoided if not the dashboard, roof etc will get sticky & gluey.

Here are a few pics of the car interiors before & after the wash. I was surprised by what all was stored by rats in the running board!
