Sorry no offence meant, but this is what i felt when i saw a Duster is flesh :redface:

Coming to the first impressions, as soon as I saw the car, the first thing that strike me is that Duster didn’t look as huge as it appears in the pictures. But then, don’t mistake it to be a puny vehicle either. Renault Duster is absolutely an average sized car with an apparent solid build and fair road presence. As someone in this thread rightly pointed out earlier, Duster's front end design seems to have mixed looks. It’s either perplexed or trying to look ‘(Pictured Below).

Today morning Renault India commenced exports of the Duster to RHD markets around the world starting with UK and Ireland from the Ennore port in Chennai.

The first two export markets for Renault India will sell the Duster as a Dacia. The cars are manufactured at the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam, Chennai, the only production plant in the world that makes the Duster in RHD.

350 cars were loaded on to a ship that will leave to the UK today. Sales of the Duster begin in Britain in January 2013 across 127 Renault dealerships that are equipped with dedicated space and sales persons to sell the “shockingly affordable” SUV.
The Duster will retail in three trims – Access, Ambiance and Laureate – from £8,995 (7.88 lakhs INR). Pre-orders for the Duster started back in June and over 1,000 Britons have already booked their cars with a deposit of £100.

this is amongst the best shade available in duster but sadly not available for indian market, also while enquiring by many people renault says if they get buyers for this particular shade they would launch duster with this shade but only with more buyers and not for few of them.

Incredible video buddy. It leaves not doubt about the capabilities of Duster and shall also provide food for thought for those who are doubting Duster's capabilities and raise a frown if someone calls Duster a SUV.

I had seen similar attempts being sucesfully carried by Maruti 800 as well.
if Iam not wrong ,driver is a pro doing it in controlled environment.it looks too light for any daring offroading.

just wait for HA Alpha from Maruti Suzuki which will have a 90BHp engine with proper Gypsy Style 4x4 mechanism and weight of around 1250 Kgs. Than no body will be interested in these big SUVs and Duster and all.
Infact i would like to trade my Aria for Ha Alpha 4x4 Diesel.

There is Renault service centre near the palce where I work, I have spotted many Dusters plarked near service centre. Interesting part to notice here is that many of them have their Wheel arcs either heavily scratched or bumped. .

I think many are not able to judge properly the width of the car. Some member have already predicted the same in this thread earlier (I cannot find the post).

Making such stunts now or then is not the issue, abusing the vehicles regularly & still the vehicle performing is what matters. Issue is not how much but how long.

You can tolerate your GF for some stupidity, but when same is done by your wife, it leads to Mahabharat.
Use duster this way regularly, & you will be Bheeshma-pitamah then.

I agree buddy but impressions are made out of TDs only whereas that video is most probably part of a fully blown drive and hence my comment. I am most probably having a TD tomorrow, so shall update my impressions. But to experience it for too long as you have suggested, one has to buy the vehicle and we can't go on buying every other car just to see how it fares in the long term, all we have are test drives, short and sweet.

Going by the current pricing of duster variants,expect nothing less than Rs.15 lakhs for duster 4X4.
