Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

I have a query. i've been driving my POLO for 12 days now with AC 100% times on. Today the weather seemed to be nice ,cloudy and it was drizzling a bit so i i didnt feel the need to switch on the AC. But after around 2 minutes of my drive i could feel some kind of air still coming from the air cooling ducts as if the AC is still on.Even after driving a good 25kms i could feel air coming in the cabin. it doesn't happen in my other cars. should i get it checked?
Hi GM88
Please follow what toughguy suggested.

Basically, you have to switch both the lights (below the AC knob) off when you want AC and fan to be off. If still air is felt inside cabin, you may call your dealer/workshop people.

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Hi Friends, good to see some proud owners of Polo. I recently bought a flash red POLO comfortline TDI. I was wondering if there is a way i can get the chrome finish to the interiors of my comfortline. The dealer told ne he will enquire the workshop as he thinks it is something that can be stuck on to the trims, not sure if he was bluffing, and later he informed that it is not so and cant be done. Do you guys know of any way i can get the chrome trims in my comfortline, thanks.

well i went to VW CHANDIGARH service centre to get my car checked today and the executive there told me the same thing. Its just when the AC is switched off the circulation button should be ON so that the duct only circulates the inside air and not suck air from outside through the fan. i was not totally convinced by what he was saying but it did work and the air flow from the vents have reduced almost to zero. [:)]

Another thing i got checked was the engine noise increases when you press the clutch. While in neutral there is very less almost the engine is inaudible inside. this doesn't happen in my other cars so thought i should ask him.he said this noise is normal and i did check the same noise in a couple of Polo's which had come down for servicing. In all a good experience there.

I didn't found this chrome finish interior in the accessories list provided by my VW dealer, still you may check out for some aftermarket solution.

I suggest you to avoid this chrome finish especially on side air vents as they tend to reflect in side-glasses/side-mirrors which you may find quite annoying while driving.

Check the attached below:

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Got two dents at one go on my car yesterday while trying to reverse my car in a narrow lane at Shalimar bagh area. It's as 90 degree sharp turn with high kerb stone on both sides left stone hits the bottom of left side and right stone hits the front bumper i completely misjudged that turn :(

Contacted VW Delhi West service center (World class automobiles) they advised me to bring my car on Wednesday as Tuesday is off due to labor day and they are able to start work on my car by Wednesday, damage is minor so i thought to drive her for couple of more days.

Few pics of damage below:

Left side bottom of the car, rubber layer under body coating minimized the damage to some extent

A sheet below front bumper becomes loose, i put tape for that hanging sheet

This would need some minor labor work. DO post us the details of expenses incurred.

And also check whether the sheet is broken from inside, because mine was broken and its very common among polos.

Look at the yellow arrow in above pic: This projected part in bumper had taken maximum impact and saved other parts of the car from the damage or say minimized the damage.

Will post bill details and car pics after the repair work, will be giving my car to VW Delhi-West in couple of days for repair.

Really sad to hear about the accident Toughguy. Is the front part of Polo that light ? I mean, can you really hold it with salo tape ? [confused]

Nice way of suggesting chrome point on rear view mirror, good work [clap]

No it's quite heavy i used couple of steel wire too, initially put tapes only but due to weight and slippery surface they was not sticking properly.

Thanks for your appreciation Shailinder.

Sorry to hear about the minor accident that happened with you ToughGuy. Surely looks the paint coating is thick which minimised the damage mostly in the rear. Hope you get your ride top notch once again after the repairs.

Yep GM88 paint is thick also i opted for underbody coating which have rubber like thick layer under the body and one inch high on side of the body which is visible in side pic. I am quite disheartened to see my Polo in this shape hope she get well soon, as i was planning for a HP trip on 18th May weekend (on occasion of my birthday).

I am looking for flippy key for my VW Polo, something like this:

Volkswagen_FlipKey_Back.jpg

Volkswagen_FlipKey_Front.jpg

Can anyone suggest from where in Delhi i can get this work done?

I am planning to purchase a flippy key for my Polo key, may be something like this:

If anyone has done this from Harsion key then please share your experience with me, is it safe to send them my car key via courier? or should i visit them in person as i was planning a HP trip,

How much time they will take if i visit them in person 1-2 hrs or 1-2 days?

How is the quality of key fob are they look cheap?

Do users ever face any issues with the key after conversion like key refuses to work in middle of nowhere?

Can they copy transponder from one key to make two keys, means two workable key fob with dummy buttons from one sent key (i don't have remote central locking and also not planning for one)

If anyone got this done please share your experience.

I am sure you'll get your car back in shape soon. And we all will be waiting for a HP travelogue of your coming trip.

By the way, how much did that underbody coating cost you? I didn't get it done at the time of delivery so thinking to go ahead with it now.

Thanks will soon post my log after the trip. Intially dealer quoted me 8K or something like this for under body, upper body and silencer coating but i manage to bring them down to 6K. Try to bargain hard with them, you can get price list from accessories shop and can opt for any one the coating plan, underbody coating is 5year plan and upperbody coating is 2 year plan they will recoat/repair the same on every six months or service interval whichever is earlier.

I liked your fog lamp work neat job, Any idea of flippy key?
