Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Thanks will soon post my log after the trip. Intially dealer quoted me 8K or something like this for under body, upper body and silencer coating but i manage to bring them down to 6K. Try to bargain hard with them, you can get price list from accessories shop and can opt for any one the coating plan, underbody coating is 5year plan and upperbody coating is 2 year plan they will recoat/repair the same on every six months or service interval whichever is earlier.

I liked your fog lamp work neat job, Any idea of flippy key?
Thanks a lot. Yes I'll check with the accessory list and try getting the prices down a little.
Regarding Flippy key, I have no idea about the after market ones. Will visit the local auto market here today and check about it and will let you know.

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

I am looking for flippy key for my VW Polo, something like this:..........
I haven't come across any TL/CL polo owner who has got this fob.
As per my experience, when I was at a car accessories shop to get auto lock done for a friend's i10, the dealer showed us a Chinese made flip key. Looked really cheap, and nowhere compared to the current flip key of polo.

I have come across polo flip key/fob (whatever its called) on ebay. What you can do is buy a fob from ebay U.K and ship it to India ensuring the quality of fob. Before that, speak to a good car accessories shop whether he would be able to link a fob to your car. My idea is- if a fob is available as aftermarket in U.K (or Europe) it means its possible to fit/link to a polo without any hassle. Same should be true for India.

Before everything, speak to your dealer. I shall also speak to mine regarding same as different dealers have different opinions.

So plan these things: speak to dealer->if +ve->speak to a accessories shop->if access. shop has good fob then get it done there or-> buy from ebay-> and get it done in an access. shop.

And also the Harison thing you checked out doesn't seem to be bad either.

Even I am looking for a flip key. I like it very much but I don't want it to give any trouble later on. Due to that I am a bit lazy to even research on it!

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

I couldn't go today but will check whenever i get time ahead. i spoke to a friend about this and he says he had seen someone who had got the flippy key done but said his was a non functional key and the car had to be opened manually itself and the buttons on the key like the lock, unlock and the boot release were all non-functional.
i think this needs an extensive research before you actually go ahead with your plans of getting this flip key.

I am also little skeptical about the flippy keys, still researching on same. Will surely update once i got something interesting. Checked ebay found few key fobs but they are not looking good to me it is quite painful process to deal with different vendors for single solution. I want one stop reliable and proven solution.

No issues, i am also looking for flippy keys with dummy buttons as i am not opting for aftermarket remote central looking which voids my Polo's electrical warranty.

Kindly update us once you get more info regarding this.

Re: Ownership Review: Polo 1.2 TDI Comfortline (Diesel)

Got delivery of my Polo today from Atrica automobiles pvt ltd (VW Noida-East) Noida Sec-63 after dent repair work, not able to collect the car yesterday due to some personal commitment at home.

This service center was quite large and same is extension of VW Delhi-West (World class automobiles pvt ltd), i gave my car at VW Delhi West and collected from VW Delhi-East, as usual work is upto the mark, repair work was carried out nicely and car is cleaned and polished properly. I paid 875 bucks for front and side repairs under cashless insurance claim from ICICI Lombard.

Your car looks great again. Nice work done by the volkswagen service people. Although the billing is on the higher side but i'm happy you didn't have to pay much from your pocket.

Nice to see ur car in original shape. A question ur car got the dent right, they remove the dent or just fill the dent with filler and repaint it ?

They replaced the bumper and front grill, i think bottom side scratches were removed by pressing and repainting work.

hi tough guy.. Did you asked the SE how they do that ?

And one more thing when the car is in idle position does the lock and unlock doesn't work i mean i observed it quite a few times that when the lock button is on and still the front side passenger door gets open from inside ass well as the driver side door too. and if the car is moving then also the same thing happens then this might be problem. I have not observed the same from out side of the car. any idea...

Do you have installed the remote locking system, if so from showroom or form outside. ?

Buddy, the car doesn't get locked from inside in any manner. The auto lock is only with respect to outside person.

The doors can be opened from inside at any point of time by anyone. When lock button is on, the outsiders cannot open the doors and boot. Thats it about central locking.

So, whats the reason that VW doesn't have it- You must have heard of instances when the central locking would fail and passengers would not be able to come outside the car. I have heard such instances when due to fire central locking malfunctions leaving the passengers stuck inside, resulting in you know what.

Many manufacturers have stopped this feature in their cars these days as far as electronic locking is concerned.

But a manual lock/unlock system is very much there in most of the cars, which VW doesn't have. I also wish some knob was there at each door for controlling the locks.

Good point....it would've been great to have a manual lock/unlock.
Works well in all cases

There's a child lock function for the rear seats...never tried till now but any idea how that works?

If the child lock is in ON condition and the door is closed, Nobody can open the door from inside. But the doors can be opened only from outside if the main lock is in UNLOCK condition.
